Hi all! We woke up to a beautiful day in Monterey to have breakfast on the ocean with this view. We watched the waves splash, otters play and birds dive for breakfast.I had 2 eggs over medium with 2 pieces of bacon and I ate both pieces of multi-grain bread. (12 sp w jam). I gave The Husband my potatoes….And topped my 2nd piece of toast with one of these cute, little jams. After breakfast, we took a long walk along the beach trail into Pacific Grove. Walking this trail is one of my favorite things to do in Monterey. On our way back, we grabbed Starbucks. Tall Nonfat Cappuccino with caramel on top (2 sp). They have new red cups!We had lunch at Petra Mediterranean before hitting the road to continue our drive. This is the oldest restaurant in Pacific Grove and family owned.
Hummus & Hot Pita bread to start (6 sp for 1 pita and 1/4 cup-ish of hummus). He ordered a build your own chicken gyro plate and I had the chicken kebob plate. My favorite thing was their Greek salad as the homemade Greek Lemon vinaigrette had a delicious garlicky, lemon bite. (5 sp)
I gave The Husband the rice.We ended our day in the cute town of Cambria. We visited here before when we went to Hearst Castle so decided it was the perfect stopping point for the day. It did hurt we scored an awesome deal at The Rigdon House (B&B) for $83 for the night.
They served us a glass of wine (Cabernet from Sylvester) as soon as we walked in. (2 sp for half). Then, upgraded our room for free to the King Suite. We have 2 fireplaces in our room plus sitting room with a view of the garden/fire pit.We walked to dinner at Robin’s. Everything they serve is locally sourced and organic.
I absolutely adore their heated courtyard setup. We started with the vegan Kim Chee Spring Rolls that came with a sweet plum sauce. (4 sp for one).Next, the Pear & Arugula salad sans the stinky cheese. This salad was amazing! The apple cider vinaigrette paired so well with the sweet pears, crunchy walnuts and pepper arugula.
I love any salad that’s topped with whole sweet potato chips too! (8 sp)My entree was Robin’s Chow with Prawns. Tons of crisp veggies with huge prawns, noodles in a soy ginger sauce. I topped it with their homemade chili sauce.
As delicious as this was, I only managed to eat about half as I was full. (7 sp).We decided to stroll around downtown instead of heading to the Christmas Market which I hear is an amazing place to see.
I definitely went into my Weekly Points today but it was all worth it. I am hoping my 16K steps helps to offset it a bit and I’ll work on balancing it out the rest of the week.
Have a great day all!

Wow, this was one amazing day of beauty and eating! It has to be your walking that’s keeping you from gaining weight! Great balance!
