Hi all! How was your weekend? Our weekend has been pretty awesome as we just wrapped up another fabulous day at the beach. We woke up early on Saturday morning to watch the sunrise while sipping Lyon Toasted Coconut coffee on our balcony. I could pretty much start every day like that.We picked up a few things to make for breakfast and lunch to balance out your eats and treats.
These Jimmy Dean Delights were The Husband’s choice coming in at just 7 Smartpoints each.Served up with 1/2 a Fuji apple – it wasn’t a bad start to the day. After breakfast, we headed out for an hour long walk along Waikiki beach to get in our steps outside. After walking both sides, we walked along the outdoor mall to the International Market. It’s so crazy to me how much this has changed since the last time we visited. It used to be an open air market with vendors selling their local crafts and souvenirs. Now it’s a big fancy mall. After getting ready, we met The Husband’s friend for lunch in the ocean. We both got leid 🙂We shared the Poki Plate…With french fries to balance out that healthy choice. Both were pretty tasty and I had about 1/3 of each. The view from my seat. And to the right of our table. I could’ve sat there all day.We relaxed on the beach for a bit after our tour of the town. Dinner was at Tommy Bahamas on the roof overlooking the Waikiki strip.
I had no idea they were in the food business too but their menu and seating intrigued me. It was cool to see everything from the roof. Our free appetizer (they gave it to us since we had never been their before) were the fresh shrimp spring rolls with peanut and Sriracha sauces.
This definitely hit the spot.I also has one cube of bread without the butter – it was full on nut-meggy and a little overwhelming to me.We both ordered the Vegetable Ramen Salads and I added Grilled Garlic Shrimp to mine.
This was fun to eat and I found myself looking for the different textures and flavors from mango, avocado, tomatoes, fresh herbs, cabbage and peanuts.Since we had a “healthy” dinner, we shared a small slice (they have a bigger one too) of key lime pie. It was so delicious, tangy, creamy and rich, I could only have a few bites.View from our balcony at night.I finished the day with 12K steps.
We drove around the island to check out a few more beaches today – I’ll be back tomorrow with some pics of our day. For now, we are off to dinner at Dukes – I cannot wait!
Night all!
