High Tech

January 31, 2013 by DanicasDaily 14 Comments

You all seriously crack me up over that secret sauce for sure!  No worries, I have a feeling I can get him to give up the recipe for his secret sauce by summer….maybe LOL.  Yesterday started off with one of my favorite things that I look forward to every other week.

My Farm Fresh To You Organic Veggie & Fruit Box!  There is just something about seeing that box on our door step and opening it up to see all this green that makes me happy.

IMG_1216

This week’s box was packed with so many things I love ~ I am not even sure where to start.

IMG_1222

I am so excited to finally get Kale in our box ~ now I just have to how I want to eat it – as chips, in pasta, soup or as a delicious kale salad.

IMG_1221

As if I didn’t love avocados enough, these are called Bacon Avocados – they so had me at Bacon!

IMG_1219

The Stone Fruits….I cannot wait until spring fruits start showing up.

IMG_1220

Once the excitement settled down, I dove into breakfast.  Two Taco Egg Muffins with a side of cantaloupe and organic blueberries (4 points+)

IMG_1174

You all cannot say I didn’t warn you about that crazy addicting snack mix.  For those who asked, here is what the package of the Crunchy Snack Mix looks like (it should say Crack Snack Mix).

IMG_1158

In my head, I justified the ingredient list being as long as the bag by all the different snack types in the bag Open-mouthed smile

IMG_1159

4 points+ for a serving and I am so glad it’s almost gone!

IMG_1157

We originally had planned on taking one of my new co-workers out for her Welcome Lunch yesterday. We ended up swapping things out and sharing High Tech Healthy Burritos.

Did you all know that there is a “High Tech” technique on how to eat a burrito?

IMG_1204IMG_1205IMG_1207

Good stuff!  I dig that they serve it up on a Whole Wheat Tortilla, but, their burritos are huge!

IMG_1210

I ended up splitting a Spicy Shrimp Burrito ~ I loved the heat factor and that smoky shrimp was absolutely amazing.  Fun Fact ~ High Tech is actually in the Weight Watchers E-Tools Tracker!

1/2 of this big burrito is 11 points+ but it’s totally a meal having half!

IMG_1214

Dinner involved Half Veggies with AVOCADO on top of Orowheat Oatnut…..

IMG_6499

Half Protein ~ 2 slices Trader Joe’s Peppered Turkey Bacon

IMG_6503

One deliciously nutty, peppery, bacon-y BLTA for 8 points+.

IMG_6495

Served up with a glass of Sparkling Moscato Wine for dessert. (4 points+)

I am off to get ready for work and hit the ground running.  I will catch up with you all later. i

Happy Friday Eve ~ One day to go, but, who is counting?!

      Hi Nancy,

I bought it at Trader Joe’s. It’s called Villa Alena Moscato d’Asti.

Here is a link to what it looks like. http://www.traderjoes.com/fearless-flyer/article.asp?article_id=861

I’m not sure what you mean by stone fruits – your picture shows apples and citrus. Stone fruits are fruits that have a pit (or “stone”) in the center – like peaches, plums, nectarines, etc.

I’m with the others on the points for 1/3 of a cup. And I KNOW I’d never stop at a single serving!! I tip my hat to you, Danica (well, if I wore a hat) for resisting and stopping at one serving!

      Hi Liza,

I am working on what stores will be carrying it. It will be launching next month in stores all over the US and I hope to be able to share a link online as well. I know Safeway is one of our big customers. I will keep you posted as soon as I know.

      Hi Jane,

I took a pointsplus break this week for a change, but, I have discovered I just really like SF better. So, I am back to Simply Filling next week.
