I <3 Whole Foods & Fun New Things!

June 17, 2010 by DanicasDaily 11 Comments

Breakfast started off with a 4 Point Fresh Strawberry Scone that I reheated in the toaster oven to make it warm and crunchy.  These scones are AWESOME ~ you can taste the berries and the butter šŸ˜€ (4 pts)

IMG_5121

I paired it with a Venti Iced Non-Fat Decaf Latte for a little protein & dairy šŸ˜‰ (3 pts)

image

Mid~ Morning snackage ~ a little Dark Chocolate wiht ALMOND and SEA SALT ~ CHOCOLOVE! (2 pts because I put one square in my mouth as I broke off 3) :)

IMG_9173

I have been excited for our Whole Foods Lunch Celebration all week.  Once a month, our company orders up delicious eats from Whole Foods.  While I LOVE the Sandwich days and Grill It Days, I was super excited for PIZZA today!!!

I started off with my first plate of SALAD ~ Caesar but I used Light Balsamic dressing. (2 pt estimate)

IMG_5127

I’ve actually NEVER tried Whole Foods Pizza before because somehow their salad bar always draws me in…..I need to change that!

Margherita Pizza!!! (5 pt estimate)

IMG_5123

The thing I think makes Whole Foods Pizzas so AMAZING is how thin the crust is and how THICK the cheese is….I <3 cheese even if The Husband tells everyone I am allergic to it ;)!!!

IMG_5137

Plus a slice of Canadian Bacon with Pineapple ~ salty sweet and a little spicy. (5 pt estimate)

IMG_5128

For dessert, I picked an Honest Peach tea while I eyed the baked goodies.

IMG_5130

I was almost about ready to pass until I saw this.  Don’t worry ~ it doesn’t taste like it looks.  It’s some funky almond like fruit cake bar (I was thinking apricot cream cheese bar!)  I tossed it after 2 bites.

IMG_5134

On my way home i stopped at the Thursday Farmer’s Market.  BEST TIP EVER ~ Go towards the end of when the market ends because you get the best deals.

I was only planning on buying 3 baskets of organic strawberries, but, he said he’d give me 3 more for $3.  DEAL!

IMG_5140

The cherries are finally looking better!

IMG_5141

I am so glad it’s FINALLY nectarine/plum/pluot season ~ everything is super sweet!

IMG_5143IMG_5144

When I got home, I had a little ā€œsurpriseā€ waiting from The Husband.  He said when he saw this placemat it made him think of me…..I LOVE it!  What can I say, I am easy to please LOL.

IMG_5138

I also had some FUN Mail too!  šŸ˜€

The people over at XAgave noticed my love of Sweet Cactus Agave Nectar and asked if I would give their brand a try.

IMG_5149

I LOVE that you can save even more calories with this brand ~ 56 vs 60 AND it has 2 g of FIBER!!!  That means that 1 Tbsp = 1 point, but, 1/2 Tbsp = 0 points!

IMG_5150

What intrigues me most about Xagave is that it’s a mixture of two Agave Plants ~ both the White and the Blue Cactus Plants.  The mixture adds Inulin ~ Fiber!  It took me a little bit to ā€œget itā€, but, I think they call it X-Agave because it’s a mixture of both kinds šŸ˜‰

IMG_5151IMG_5152

They actually knew the way to my heart is through healthy recipes & cookbooks.  I think it’s pretty awesome that their goal is to show everyone all the uses for how XAgave can be used for everything, not just a drizzle here or there.

IMG_5154IMG_5164

What makes this maybe one of the BEST COOKBOOKS I own??? One of my FAVORITE persons in the world is featured with her recipe ~ Congrats, Janetha!!!! So FUN!

IMG_5155

I really learned a lot about Agave in their healthy benefits section…it’s good to know that not all Agave is created equal.  I think that makes sense since you can buy it super cheap to super expensive.

IMG_5160

I think the process of how it’s made is pretty interesting too.

IMG_5161

I haven’t actually tried my Xagave yet, but, I can’t wait.  Reviews and of course RECIPES coming soon šŸ™‚

The SECOND Package from POM Wonderful I cannot wait to tell you all about!  This Summer I will be partnering with POM Wonderful and 4 other bloggers as part of the Summer POM Recipe Series!

IMG_5148

I will be able to tell you all more details about it next week, but, I am pretty sure you are going to LOVE it as it’s going to be an on-going weekly feature into the summer šŸ˜€

We ended up having take out from Panda while watching the NBA Final Game.  I had my usual 7 point meal!

Panda Express String Bean Chicken

Panda Express Broccoli Beef Panda Express Mixed Vegetables

for my site, Danica’s Daily over ~ It takes 2 seconds or less :D!

HAPPY FRIDAY EVE ALL!!!! Maybe tomorrow I’ll think about actually cooking again šŸ˜‰ LOL….

second, I have the same pattern of your placemat – in a table runner. I love it! Target, right? what a sweet hubby. šŸ™‚

    Hi Andi,

I LOVE Chinese food and rarely go to real restaraunts for that same reason. My goto for real restaraunts is usually steamed broccoli chicken with the sauce on the side or soy sauce with brown rice if they have.

That being said I do goto Panda Express a lot because they are healthier and have all their nutirtional information online.

That is where we got our take out from…its so good!

Ya I think he got it at Target….he’s awesome!

Those strawberries look so good. I just bought some at a roadside stand in MI, and they are the best ones I’ve had in such a long time!
