Do you think it’s Happy or Merry when you tell someone Merry Christmas Eve? I mean, I know you say Merry Christmas, but, what do you say for the “Eve”? The Husband and I started out our day debated that since it’s the day before the eve of Christmas LOL. Now that I am typing it, I am not sure it makes ANY sense at all
Being the procrastinator organized person that I am, I set out to finish my Christmas shopping this morning. I wasn’t hungry so I grabbed a banana and my coffee mug on my way out the door. ZERO breakfast ~ AWESOME!
I have to say I am pretty proud of myself for getting in and out of all the stores in under two hours. The Husband asked me to bring him lunch today and I thought of just dropping his off/eating what I planned, but…..When I stopped at Subway, I HAD to order too ~ I am kinda have a thing for their sandwiches. I totally blame it on the AVOCADO!
My entire sandwich came up to 11 points+ (crazy, before it was only 7!)
9 Grain Honey Oat
Turkey/Ham
AVOCADO
All the veggies, salt, pepper & vinegar
No worries though, that didn’t stop me from having CHIPS *sigh* I really wanted chips today so I picked up some 3 pt+ Baked Lays so I could stuff them IN my sandwich. I think that might be the 2nd best addition to any sandwich Yup, we totally ate on the ground sitting side by side on the steps
(LOVE)
I wasn’t hungry at all this afternoon, but, I wanted something sweet. It probably didn’t help that I was bagging up all that Double Chocolate Butter Toffee with Almonds. I figured I “needed” to try it before I gave it away ( 7 points+ for 1 oz).
We spent the rest of the afternoon/evening delivering presents to our friends and family. We ended up with our friends at Monsoon Burgers.
Not to justify, but, to be honest. I really COULD HAVE made a better choice ~ veggie burger, chicken breast sandwich, burger salad like before. But, really, when it came down to it, I got what I REALLY wanted.
A REAL BACON CHEESEBURGER with caramelized onions and BACON!
I did make sure I loaded up on those ZERO POINT veggies LOL….
MMMMM…..it was totally worth every single bite. (15 point+ high estimate)
Luckily I was too full after my burger to eat my fries. I had 5 then, gave The Husband the rest. (3 points+)
Totally a HIGH POINT day, but, you know what, sometimes you just have to live a little and enjoy life. I enjoyed it and I tracked it all.
I know this hasn’t been my best week, but, I am OK with that. I am going to focus on staying on track the next two days, get through Christmas and get right back on the success track with my new week starting on Sunday.
To top off my indulgent day….I got the chance to BUST INTO one of my Christmas presents early Each year we pick 1 we get to open on the day before Christmas Eve and on Christmas Eve…..just to make it fun.
I kinda sorta knew that this might be in the stack so I made sure I shook all my boxes until I found one that “felt” like it might be the one…Yup, I am totally a kid like that
<3 I am so excited, but, actually a little scared of this camera ~ it seems soooo “professional” and I LOVE my Canon Point & Shoot.
Q’s:
1. What kind of camera do you own? Any tips on how to use a REAL camera that you can tell me?
I think I do pretty good with my Canon 890IS Digital Elph ~ I LOVE that it works well in low light and I can find a setting for just about any environment. My BIGGEST TIP ~ never use your flash….go for natural light or adjust to a camera setting that works with the light you have.
NEW FRIENDS FOR WEIGHT LOSS POST: THE QUICK KITCHEN WORKOUT!
Night all!
I got the Rebel XSi earlier this year. I love it!
I love to shoot in AV mode. I got the Dummies book for my model and it was very helpful. I also google a bunch for tips. Lots of videos and info out there!
The great thing about the Rebels is they allow you to quickly shoot in Auto mode while you’re learning the manual settings so you can still use it instantly…just don’t stay in Auto mode forever! 🙂
Congrats on the new camera! How fun!
I just got a Rebel T2i (thank you Black Friday deals) in November for a very early Christmas gift.
I’m still using the auto mode on mine (well auto mode minus the flash). I can’t wait to get better at using it.
Have a fabulous Christmas Eve and Christmas 🙂
Oooo. Very nice camera!
I’m getting one for Christmas too. And I’m really leaning towards the Rebel. Can’t wait to get it and play with it!
Enjoy! And Merry Christmas! 🙂

Have a wonderful Christmas!
Oh and now I want a bacon cheeseburger, thank you very much 😉
merry/happy christmas eve…soooo awesome that you got a rebel 🙂
You are going to LOVE your new camera! I love my good ol’ Rebel XtI. If you ever feel like moving beyond the kit lens and want to go for some fun depth of field-type shots, amazon has a fab 50 mm lens for a great price! Love your blog and I’m loving the new Points Plus!
Boo Hoo thats what I have been wanting…maybe after taxes this year!! LOL My camera is a cheesy power shot but hey I got it free from the 12 days of Ellen 2 years ago!! Got that and a free trip to Puerto Rico with hotel and luggage and bose headset! so thats my camera…Happy Christmas Eve Danica!! xo
Danica, I love, love, love, my Rebel… you are going to have so much fun with it! There are a slew of tutorials out there to get you started (and to get out of shooting with the auto mode). My favorite is a 12 week one from two peas in a bucket: http://sites.google.com/site/biowbiow002/twopeas_12week It teaches you the basics… but if you’re not ready for that yet, just keep it in auto mode, and you’ll still take great photos 🙂 Merry Christmas!!
I have the same camera!! Check out dslrtips.com, they have videos up there that helped me TONS in learning how to use it. I just got the 50mm f1.8 lens for it and am in LOVE. You know, for when you inevitable start thinking about upgrades 😉 Merry Christmas Danica!!
lol. finally busting it out!!!!!!!!!!!!!
