The Tomato Festival was eh, ok. I was sort of disappointed a the lack of “Tomato-ness”. It was pretty much just a big street fair with several vendors selling nick nacks and/or food. The only tomato part was this small tent that you had to pay $2 just to get into to buy any tomatoes or sample them. I thought it seemed odd to have to pay just to get to the area to buy the tomatoes when the rest of the festival was free. Probably not a festival I’d go to again.
After the festival we ran to Sam’s where The Husband picked out the steak he wanted me to make for him for dinner tonight. On our way back we stopped at BayBerry for some Froyo.
I think I fell in LOVE with their flavor of the day ~ Peanut Butter. I got strawberry, chocolate and peanut butter topped with yogurt chips – YUM! I was sad when it was all gone 🙂
Oh and now for the title of my post ~ I LOVE our mail man – he always brings me the COOLEST stuff! When we got home, I had such a cool package waiting for me from Amber at The Bolder Yoga Company. Amber asked me a little while back if I’d like try their Yoga Mat and Vegan Yoga Mat Cleaner after Michele (you rock!!) referred her to me. After reading up on her company and everything they represent I couldn’t wait to try their mats out. All of their mats are eco-friendly and the company supports all things sustainable! I LOVE that they have a yoga mat recycle program where they donate your old mats to yoga charities – how cool is that?!
The mat I received is the Cosmic Breath Mat ~ isn’t it beautiful?!
LOVE the company logo ~ it’s super cute!
When I rolled my mat out to take a picture, I seriously wanted to drop my agenda for the day and do Yoga! The mats are really big and thick(1/4-inch thick!) which I feel are two really important things in my yoga mat since I often practice on our hard wood floor. I cannot wait to put my new yoga mat to the test in a yoga session.
Along with my mat, Amber was sweet enough to include their Vegan Witch Hazel Yoga Mat Cleaner.
Their VEGAN Yoga Mat cleaning spray is made with Witch Hazel and a blend of essential oils. You can use it to clean everything ~ your yoga mat bag, shoes, or for a fresh pick me up! All you have to do is spray it on and go.
I will definitely be providing a full review of my mat and Vegan Yoga Mat cleaning spray soon!
I spent the rest of the afternoon making The Husband’s cake. I’ll be sharing it with you all tomorrow but I have to wait until we cut it open (that is where the fun is!) I was challenged making the cake and I really think it turned into a blue smurf cake, but, I think it will all be good in the end (fingers crossed). If not, I’ll just have to try again 🙂
For dinner, I made up some veggie foil packs to use up some of our veggies.
Green & Yellow Green Beans
Red & White sweet onions
Squash
Lime Juice
Sea Salt & Pepper
A little kiss of butter and a sprinkle of parmesan
Delish! I am glad we have extra. I also improvised making my Vegan Pasta Salad since I didn’t have all the veggies/ingredients I needed. It still turned out fantastic and The Husband completely LOVED it ~ Yeah, happy birthday eve success!
With my dinner, I grilled up some organic chicken with Gayle’s Original BBQ Sauce. The nutritional specs are pretty awesome and you can recognize EVERY ingredient listed – That’s my kind of sauce!
I LOVED how thick it is and I tasted it as soon as I opened the bottle. The flavor rocks ~ it definitely has a classic BBQ sauce taste with a smokey, sweet kick. It worked perfectly in adding layers of flavor to the chicken (even though my cooking challenge seemed to continue & I burned the chicken too!)
I definitely think this flavor would be awesome as salad dressing and I am also thinking of making up a BBQ Chicken Tortilla pizza with the leftovers ~ YUM!
Dinner also included a super crisp, sweet yellow/white corn.
After dinner, we settled in to watch Nick & Nora. I made up a little movie snacking plate ~ crackers, cheese, and a pluot.
Tomorrow morning we are heading on a mini road trip to celebrate The Husband’s Birthday. See you all when we return later in the afternoon!
oh how cool is that mat cleaner? i usually throw mine in the washing machine and let it air dry – but it is time consuming…
That mat looks beautiful!!
That is the most gorgeous yoga mat I’ve ever seen! Now I have no excuse for not taking that class with my friend on Tuesday. >.< Why does it have to be at 6 a.m. though? Ooh, your BayBerry looks good too. I don't think they have that store in NYC.
I <3 witch hazel! I started using it as my toner a few months ago when i realized that 1) its soooooo inexpensive (and i still have a good half the bottle to go) and 2) its so good for my skin and 3) no parabens, phalates or other nasty chemicals and dyes 🙂 you should try it – its cut with some alcohol and works great. about $1.79 for a huge bottle from Target! but i'm sure cvs or you rlocal pharmacy have it too 🙂
Peanut butter!!! Nice choice! I like the yoga mat – it’s cute!
i’m pretty sure mailman are the most popular dudes in blogville
That froyo looks rockin and I love the yoga mat! It’s so pretty.
Yum, peanut butter is also my fave flavor!
How sweet is that yoga mat?! I really need to find one like that because I practice on hardwood floors, too. You’ll have to let me know if it makes a difference.
Your mat is beautiful, Danica!! Aw, you didn’t have to link to me. I appreciate that!!! 😀
I know you’ll enjoy your mat. I did an hour of yoga this morning–fantabulous!!!!
*smiles*
