Happy Biggest Loser Day all! Thanks for all the comments on my Slow Cooker Blueberry Peach Cobbler Oats. I really do LOVE them and they will be on the Weekly Menu again soon! So, I have a slight confession since you all know how much I LOVE The Biggest Loser….I haven’t watched a single episode this season….not because I haven’t wanted too, I am just THAT far behind. So, I do not have any commentary to add, but, hope to chime in soon.
On that note, I brought back another favorite breakfast this morning ~ Mock Lemon Meringue Pie!
Do you all remember that? I am not even sure what makes me forget about delicious things like:
- 1 cup Trader Joe’s 0% Greek Yogurt topped with
- 1 Tbsp Trader Joe’s Lemon Curd (it tastes like the inside of Lemon Pie!) sprinkled with
- 1 Cinnamon Graham Cracker, crushed
I had a banana on the side for staying power for a 7 points+ quick breakfast.
Mid morning, I started off snacking on 1/2 an oz of Salt n Vinegar Almonds, but, I ended up adding in the other half because they are just THAT good (5 points+)
The past two days I have had working lunches so today I decided to pack up a portable lunch that I could just grab and go……
Enter, another long, lost favorite ~ Trader Joe’s Spicy Ranchero Egg White Salad!
REAL ingredients!
1 points+ for 1/2 the container and 3 points+ for the ENTIRE container!
I knew I wouldn’t be graceful eating it on bread, so I decided to go with the next best thing
~ Trader Joe’s Sea Salt & Pepper Crisps for dipping.
You see, I LOVE these crisps because you get A LOT of crunch for your points+.
38 crisps for 3 points+
Add fruit for a totally portable 6 points+ lunch that only took like 1 minute to make and it absolutely delicious!
Mid afternoon snackage ~ another constant staple in our house Cabot Serious Snacks!
Each Low-Fat Cheese Square in ALL flavors are just 1 points+
I made my co-worker burst out in laughing when she saw me snapping pictures of my berries….she couldn’t help but ask me “why” I was taking pictures of my berries…after making up a few random stories about how I wanted to remember them after I ate them…..I confessed
Even though today was another late night, I managed to get on in time to meet our friends at Mary’s Pizza Shack for dinner.
I LOVE their salads and often get them for meals. However, I knew I wanted some “real” food today.
Side Salad with 1 Tbsp ranch, fork dipped (4 points+)
I am still learning how to “just say no” to the bread……I honestly think it’s one reason I LOVE going out to eat.
2 slices with 1 tsp REAL butter (3 points+)
Then, The Husband and I shared their Spaghetti with meatballs since he asked me if I wanted to be his Lady and the Tramp ~ LOL!
I mean, who can say NO to a line like that?!
I had about 1/3 of this ~ 1 ball with about 1 cup of pasta for 9 points+.
In other FUN NEWS ~ As you all know, I LOVE my recipe organizer and I owe all of it to Casey & Emily who developed Recipage.
This week they picked me as their Featured Blogger on RECIPAGE ~ so FUN! Go check it all if you want to see some of my FAVORITE recipes and learn more about how you can get your own Recipage for free!

What are some of your FAVORITE things?
Night all!
Robyn @ Blueberries and Oats says
Mmmm I will definitely have to make that for breakfast one of these days. I <3 TJ's lemon curd.
I too am a little shy on telling people 1) yes I snap a photo of everything I eat and 2) I post it on the internet for the world to see. =P I don't know how some bloggers can be so professional about it and have business cards and everything! I'm way too shy.
P.s. I'm moving to Seattle and picked an apartment within 10 minutes walking distance of a Trader Joe's! I can't wait to try all these things I've seen you rave about for a year!

Welcome to Seattle, Robyn! Let me know if you need any Seattle advice/info! I’ve been back here for 5 years.
I haven’t been to TJs in weeks but since I’m getting back on plan (last 20 to go – again) I think Ranchero should be in my shopping cart.

My new find this week is stoneyfield oikos greek yogurt with honey. The containers are small but 2 points plus and packed with TEN grams of protein. I’m really working on upping the protein in my diet.

I really wish we had a Trader Joe’s. Might need to try that lemon pie-ish thing with some Chobani Lemon yogurt. MMMM

Right now Salads are my thing. For some reason I just can’t get enough.
Another favorite for a snack is natural almonds and a weight watcher cheese stick.
Today for lunch I brought a Lean Cusine Spring Roll. They are 3 Pts+ for one pkg. Two pkg. come in the box. I don’t normally eat the meals like this very much due to the sodium but a friend recommended them so I thought they would be easy for me to bring to work.
I also have some green beans and some fruit to go with it.
The mock lemon pie sounds so yummy!!!

Thanks for reminding me about the egg white salad – I’ll have to get some today, it’s yummy. I love your site, Danica! You’re really helping me stay on track and enjoy my food. One question – where do you get the Cabot cheese? I live in Sonoma and never find it at my regular stops.
DanicasDaily says
Hi Carla,
I buy my Cabot Cheese at Sam’s Club. It comes in two flavors – Sharp and Pepper Jack.

I’m following you like a little puppy, Danica. Got my Newman’s Own Lime Dressing, CVS had some vinegar & salt almonds (definitely not BOLD), and craved Panda Express since your post. Yes, the firecracker chicken was free and steamed veggies instead of rice. Thanks for all of the hints. Today white egg salad… Been doing great on WW and you are my biggest influence. Hooray for our losses.

Hi Danica! I didn’t get to comment yesterday but that oatmeal looked fantastic! I haven’t had the “faux” lemon pie in a while but I love that one too. 🙂 Your eats always look so yummy. I wish we had a TJ’s here so I could get more of the things that don’t travel well (like egg salad). For now I have to be content w/ goody boxes sent by my SIL. 🙂

Oh boy….REALLY wish I hadn’t read about the salt n vinegar almonds on your blog. I promptly went out and bought a can from my local Ralphs. I’ve already had my portion for the day but they CONTINUE to call my name from the depths of the pantry. (Their cousin, the wasabi n soy almonds, are not much better behaved!)
Thanks for the tip…I think!

I went to TJ’s on monday cause I had been craving the egg salad bought 3 tubs…make sure you always check the date! I have not tried those crips though…I got the new special k crisps Southwest ranch…27 for 3pts+ and they are GOOOD!… The oatmeal was oh so good this am!! I forgot about the mock pie and I have everything here. My favorite is sushi and I don’t get it often but today I do!! I pretty much love anything that will give a lot of bang for my points+…I like volume!! LOL Love the Skinny Fries from TJ”S …

Funny…I have a TJ’s shopping list at my desk & just added 4 things that you mentioned to the list.
I can’t wait to try it all. Next week my menu will look similar to this! 🙂
Lori says
Oh…and with regards to Biggest Loser – I’m really liking this season. I think it’s getting back to basics – aka the way the show started & less game play & extreme weights. I’m loving it again!
Pat says
Trader Joe’s is my most fav! I am there once a week, sometimes more! There is not anything I do not like there. I do not not even need a list, just load up my cart. Today I went to Costco to get my PopChips (love the small bags!), then stoped at TJ’s.
Diane in Wisconsin says
Oh, I so wish I had a Trader Joe’s closer than 50 miles!
Life's a Bowl says
I LOVE TJ’s Sea Salt & Pepper Crisps! The edamame ones are pretty tasty too 🙂 This week I’ve been loving “bowly” bfasts [waffle bowl, yogurt bowl, cereal bowl], snacky lunches [a little of everything I want], and big salads and toasty bread for dinner… All topped off with a cereal + fro-yo dessert 😀
