Last Chance Workout!

March 30, 2010 by DanicasDaily 18 Comments

Happy Biggest Loser Day all!  This morning, I decided to bust out and try my Biggest Loser Last Chance Workout.  I LOVE that this entire workout DVD is by Jillian Michaels.  No offense to Bob or anything, but, I honestly feel like Jillian’s workout DVDs are tougher (like her 30 day Shred!)

IMG_1870

The DVD gives you a choice of picking the programs you want to do:

* Warm Up, Cool Down

* 25 M Cardio Circuits

* 10 M Upper Body Sculpt and 10 M Lower Body Sculpt

I’ll admit I was a bit afraid to take the entire DVD with Jillian to start….so I picked warm-up, the Upper & Lower Body Sculpt and the cool down.

WOW ~ Let me just say that Jillian maximizes her punishment ~ she is constantly Super Setting all while working out two muscle groups at a time with NO BREAKS!  Just think of holding your hand weights going into a deep JUMPING squat doing a shoulder raise.  I think it’s cool that you can up your intensity by increasing your weights.  I used my Reebok Adjustable Weights so I could change the weight easily as I switched sets.  I stuck used 5, 10 and 12 lbs though.

Did I mention I can feel my triceps already?  Not sure it was from the tricep dips or the push-ups!

Breakfast was EASY….1 banana plus 5 strawberries (2 pts)

IMG_1834

Plus a 100 cal LF TJ’s Banana Froyo (2 pts)

IMG_1833

Protein power ~ an egg white fluffy that you know I covered in Sriracha after I took this picture (1 pt)

IMG_1832IMG_1831

Mid morning I had a snack repeat ~ I am just totally addicted to this Savory Vegetable Alouette Fluffy Cheese and Black Pepper Triscuit Combo (4 pts).

IMG_1843

Lunch wasn’t fancy at all but it was completely delicious.  I had 1/2 c of TJ’s Organic Brown Rice, plus leftover grilled veggies topped with Sriracha! (3 pts)

IMG_1850

Plus 2 cuties for dessert (1 pt).

IMG_1848

It really took ALL my will power to make sure I ate my lunch FIRST because  I had to order SIFT CUPCAKES for our Birthday Celebration tomorrow.

IMG_1846

3 sample cakes came back with me ~ Champagne Raspberry (pink), SNICKERDOODLE (w/cinnamon cream cheese frosting!) and Lemon (which had lemon curd in the middle).  Don’t worry, I didn’t eat THREE CUPCAKES although the though DID occur to me to NOT share :D  I cut them in 4’s and had 1 bite of each ~ OMG ~ words cannot describe them ~ LOVE!!!!   I LOVED the cake on all of them but really only dug the snickerdoodle frosting.

IMG_1857

Today was an exhausting work day so I wanted something really easy for dinner.  I whipped up Ellie Krieger’s Fettuccine with Walnuts.  I followed the recipe exactly (shocker, I know), but, did add a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes for some HEAT and put it over spinach since I didn’t have any arugula.

IMG_1861

I LOVED getting a little parmesan nuttiness, walnuts, garlic, spinach, and parsley in every bite.

IMG_1864

This was AMAZING ~ it honestly tastes like a fancy dish you’d get at a restaurant ~ so rich, crunchy and light, yet, very filling.  It only took 15 minutes to make too!

IMG_1860

Calorie Count gave it a B ~ Not bad especially since the fats are healthy fats.

    If it didn’t have gluten, I’d be all over that dinner dish, and I don’t even normally like pasty! But something about nuttiness and parmesan sounds yum

    I’ve been wanting to buy the Last Chance Workout! I love all of Jillian’s videos. I own most of them by now. I’ve been meaning to checkout the yoga video as well! The roasted veggies look so beautiful, healthy and fresh! I’ve got to start roasting veggies more often. (and I love how low in points they are!)

    I love Jillian. I will definately get that DVD. I tried her WII program and it bored me. I like weight training, so the one you tried looks good.

    Wondered how that Last Chance workout dvd was. Oh that fettuccine looks so good.

    I caught it when Stephanie said that she met someone but I had no clue who it was. Cute!
