Leftovers make the world a better place

January 12, 2010 by DanicasDaily 13 Comments

Happy BIGGEST LOSER day all!  Seriously, that is what Tuesday’s MEAN to ME! 😀 Well, and now, I guess, I have The Scandalous Bachelor Mondays too :)  Last nights show was great – I think this year is going to be so intriguing for sure and well Biggest Loser always rocks.

Anyway…somehow, I digressed in the midst of telling you all about today’s indulgences and workouts.

This morning started with Almond butter toast (surprised?!) topped with a small banana for 5 pts.

My breakfast actually kept me super full all morning and I didn’t “technically” need an AM snack.  However, being the good “sharer” I am, I brought in that FANTASTIC WHOLE Hazelnut chocolate to work to share with my co-workers.  I had a 3 pt square as a “pre-run” snack….Carbs, protein, healthy fats, right 😀 LOL….ok……carbs to fuel my workout ;), no?

The rain actually held off long enough for me to get in a quick 2.4 mile run/walk doing 3:1 intervals.  It was a good workout that I felt “fast” in but, I know I am slow so I am sure that was just the voices in my head talking.

When I got back, I had some delicious leftover TJ’s Chicken Apple Sausage Veggie Penne for Pennies pasta. I LOVE leftovers – it’s totally like having someone cook for you and you don’t have to do the work, again (7 pts)

I washed it all down with Fizzy Water ~ I LOVE the Penguin Fizzy water machine we have at work….it totally helps in meeting my daily water requirements, New Year’s Resolution Month 1.

Someone put a GIGANTIC container of Annie’s Sumer Strawberry Fruity Bunnies in our break room so I traded in my fruit dessert.  I had two napkins like this for 1 point.  So GOOD!

My day got even better when I walked in the door to see……ready for this…..The Husband making us dinner!!!! Woohoo, LOVE him….I am starting to lose count now.  He asked us to make up our veggies while he did the rest.

I made up salads topping mine with TJ’s LF Cranberry Gongonzola dressing for 2 points.

IMG_7664

He whipped up a batch of spaghetti for us and he even used 99% LEAN ground turkey….WTG Hubs!!!  It was delicious.  I had 1/2 c Multi-Grain Angel hair with 1/2 c of sauce for 4 points.

Dinner also included some homemade garlic bread ~ TJ’s mini ciabatta rolls topped with light butter, garlic salt and freshly ground pepper.  I went back for my other half so I am counting this as 3 points.

The BEST part is he made enough so I have lunch tomorrow – woohoo!  It’s like he made me lunch too ….you see Leftovers make the world a better place because he can feel like he is giving me the gift that keeps on giving and well, they just make me happy too.

I am sure tonight will include some FF Extra Creamy Breyer’s ice cream with some cantaloupe since I feel like I am lacking enough fruit (and dairy :D) lately.  I will update my post in the AM if I have some.

Off to relax, READ and get ready for The Biggest Loser!!!

Do you all have a favorite team yet?  I am still debating but maybe after tonight’s show I will.

Nite all!

biggest loser and AI…it was so hard to decide what ot watch! I just kept flipping back and forth! left overs are so great because the longer it sits the better it gets 😉 (I know people say that about soup or chili) but I feel that way about it all!

Leftovers really are the best. I have them for lunch all the time and for dinner when I get home after work/gym/horrid commute and I am starving and need dinner instantly 🙂
