“Mock” My Cherry Cobbler

March 30, 2012 by DanicasDaily 6 Comments

Happy Friday all! I really need to check out some of your Waffle-Wich Ideas.  I cannot believe I have NEVER thought to have a MAPLE BACON WAFFLE-WICH ever…..This is definitely going on my must try breakfast lists ASAP.

Speaking of amazing “dessert” breakfasts ~ today started off with a “Mock” My Cherry Fruit Cobbler!

I started off with a chopped nectarine & plum.  Believe it or not, they were actually sweet.  I cannot wait for Farmer’s Market Season.

Then, I busted out my new FAVORITE FAGE 0% Flavor ~ Cherry Pomegranate.

3 points+ for the entire container.

IMG_5836

Super thick creamy greek yogurt with sweet cherry “cobbler” like filling….all you need is a sprinkle of cinnamon….

And a sprinkle of Coconut Almond Granola to make one tasty “Mock” Cherry Cobbler Dessert Breakfast for only 4 points+.

My co-worker and I decided to head down to the Café today since they were serving up Healthy Taco Tostada Salads…..I swapped all dressings for salsa, salsa and more, um, salsa.

In the MIX:

  • Romaine, Cabbage, red onion, cilantro, green onions Blend
  • Red bell peppers
  • Pico De Gallo
  • 1/4 cup roasted corn (1 points+)
  • 1/4 cup pinto beans (1 points+)
  • 1/4 cup taco turkey meat (2 points+)
  • 1 Tbsp shredded cheddar (1 points+)
  • 1/8 AVOCADO (1 points+)
  • Salsa

All tossed up and poured into this HUGE Tostada Bowl…..ready for it??? It’s Baked Not Fried!!! How awesome is that?! (6 points+ for the shell)

I think it is really funny that since The Husband has been taking care of dinner for us all week, he actually told me what I could start making for dinner when I got home.  He even sent along a list that I should stop at the store for more Frank’s Hot Sauce and lettuce. LOL.

Talk about role reversal, but, I have no complaints at all Open-mouthed smile

We decided on BBQ, Buffalo Chicken Salads! (10 points+ because I doubled up on the almonds)

I really think BBQ + Frank’s Hot Sauce + Ranch + Celery + Carrots were made for each other.

I am not sure what we are up to for tonight, but, there are talks of signing up for a 5K tomorrow or racing cars, going to the movies or just hanging out.  Oh and maybe some Breyer’s Rocky Road Ice Cream too Winking smile

Have a fantastic night all ~ I will catch up with you all later this weekend.

I have never tried that yogurt flavor, but I just swooned over another one—Chobani apple and cinnamon non-fat, yummmmmmm.

I love your blog… But I a curious…. How many points+ do you get each day? I still follow the “old” way of WW. I have been hesitant to make the switch because everything seems tobe more points. What are your thoughts? Thanks

      Hi Curious,

The new points+ system really changed the way points and daily targets are calculated. The new formula factors in fat, fiber, carbs, protein and therefore has changed the points value of several foods. The higher targets reflect the increase in points for foods so it is all relative. The daily target varies by person since it is based on age, height, weight, gender, weight loss/maintenance goal. The new minimum is 26 points+ and it goes up from there. I personally love the new system.

I typically shoot for a range of 26-31 points+ per day depending on my hunger levels. It really is a personal preference and the program does not tell you to use a range.

Here are all the posts I have done on the new system starting from 2011 through today.

Your tostada salad looks amazing and i love your blog.

did you notice that your lunch comes in styrofoam? it seems that your cafe is so focused on healthy eating, yet serves food in styrofoam?

just wondering about your thoughts – since you seem so focused on reusable containers and beverage holders.

Thanks for a great reminder about healthy eating every day. i have been lifetime for over 8 years and rarely count points but still weigh in every month.

    Best – Ellen

      Hi Ellen,

Actually, all the containers in our Cafe at compostable including the cups, bowls, containers, silverware and straws. The togo cups are recyclable. I can see how the picture makes it look like styrafoam. I would actually probably avoid buying from them if they used styrafoam and they did not use recyclable.

Our entire office is focus sustainability. We have programs for composting, recycling, and minimizing waste. It’s pretty cool actually.

Thanks for inquiring about that and congrats at maintaining your weight loss for over 8 years!

That yogurt is one of my favorites, I love the cherry cobbler taste it brings 🙂 Makes me feel like I’m eating something really decadent, when it’s not!
