Happy Saturday all! As you all know with any NEW JOB, you have to get a new wardrobe or at least a few new outfits. In a strange way I am excited to give up my flip flop and jean attire from my last job, but, sad too. I sorta felt like I was going back to school shopping today because I am so excited over all the things I bought and can’t wait to wear them LOL.
I made sure to “power up” for a day out of fun shopping with a Spicy Sausage Egg-wich.
* 2 slices Trader Joe’s Fat Free Multi-Grain Bread (3 points+)
* 1 “fried” egg (2 points+)
* 1 Hot & Spicy Morning Star Sausage sliced in half to cover the bread (2 points+)
ONE delicious sandwich that kept me full for 5 hours.
Plus a cup of coconut coffee for here & to go (double fuel!)
Sometimes I LOVE shopping & sometimes I hate it. Today I LOVE it because:
~ I started off at the Farmer’s Market
Then, I headed over to the mall where I SCORED some major deals
~ 1/2 off everything plus 15% off my entire purchase at JC Pennies
~ $30 off plus a free item coupon at Victoria’s Secret
~ Sadly I found nothing I LOVED at Macy’s or NY & Co
~ Buy 1 pair on NEW running shoes get 1 pair of work dress shoes half off (plus the same deal for 2 pairs of shoes I found on clearance!) at Famous Footwear plus $10 in coupons
MY NEW MOTIVATOR ~ I cannot wait to take my shoes out for a spin, run, walk, lol!
I felt like such the “bargain” shopper and proud of myself for actually REMEMBERING my coupons. We stopped for lunch at Panda Express because it’s been too long.
I knew I really wanted spicy chicken & veggies so I picked two of my favorite things….
Kung Pao Chicken ~ 7 points+
String Bean Chicken ~ 4 points+
I “almost” always get Steamed Mixed Veggies for my side, but, today I really wanted steamed rice. I asked the server to only give me half the usual amount. I estimated it at 1 cup of White Rice for 5 points+.
FUN RANDOM FACT about me ~ I actually know the points+ values of almost everything you can order at Panda….sad, but, true…LOL.
It is how I know that it was “worth it to me” to have these ~ Cream Cheese Won Tons ~ 3 for 5 points+. Ummm, ya, I sorta went all out at lunch (good thing I have my WPA!)
I topped off my shopping fun at Target before heading home to replenish with melon & more coconut iced coffee ~ weeeee!
If you are fueled on Coconut Coffee all day long, you won’t drop when you shop
Dinner was…..SIMPLE, DELICIOUS BLTA’S!
Layered with GOOD tomatoes and greens from the Farmer’s Market.
And 2 thick slices of crispy, uncured applewood smoked bacon!
MMMM ~ Perfect for when you really don’t want to “cook”…(9 points+)
Total for the day 37 points+ and worth every single WPA used.
Tomorrow we are off to hunt for the “Caribbean” Themed bookshelves The Husband has in mind. He mentioned the Folsom Antique Faire, Scandinavian Designs and/or maybe Restoration Hardware.
Do you all have any ideas of great places to find distressed wood like bookshelves?
Night all!

I’m with you, Danica! The cream cheese wontons are totally worth the points to me, too. 🙂

Sounds like you got some amazing bargains. I love to shop like that and use up those coupons to stretch my dollars!
Congrats on the new job, its exciting to begin a new chapter in life.

Good for you for knowing every single Points Plus value on the Panda Express menu! That will keep you from going overboard when you are eating out. I love restaurants where I know exactly what I can eat and account for! Have you ever considered adding a restaurants list with the points of foods you know for fellow WW? I used to love Dotti’s Weight Loss Zone but she doesn’t do points plus so I don’t use her site any more. Eating out is so tricky!

Hi Jennifer,
You know, we are working on compiling a list like that for Friends for Weight Loss. Hopefully one day we will have it done with the points values. I agree, I used to love DWLZ before.

Hi Danica. WOW….you sure got some great bargains!!! Love the new runners!!!! Have a good Sunday.

What is coconut coffee? I’ve never heard of it but it sounds great!
DanicasDaily says
Hi Brenda,
I just buy coconut flavored coffee. It isn’t anything fancy. I know there is syrup you could try adding and/or extract to regular flavored coffee as another option.
