On our 5 year Anniversary, The Husband decided for my gift, he would build me a new pantry shelf made out of wood since wood is what you give someone for 5 years. Our house was built in the 40’s a walk in pantry was not included. I know – it’s wrong! 😀 We just basically inherited a standing shelf that we made as our pantry and it’s really not that bad. However, who wouldn’t jump at having a new pantry shelf?!
The Husband finished my shelf this month and I FINALLY moved it inside to restock it. He actually asked me to do put it together for his birthday 🙂

Here is a side by side BEFORE (OLD SHELF) and AFTER (NEW SHELF) made by The Husband. I have been working hard at using what we have on the shelf so that has helped too, but, it is double the size of our old one too!

Here it is up close and personal. He made everything 100% from scratch and based on how he thought I’d use it. He made sure I had enough space to have to put all those plates I’ve been buying since blogging too 😀 LOL
Hungry hangs out on the Pantry Shelf to remind me to eat mindfully, not mindlessly! He is so adorable and I can honestly say he wards off those voices in my head that tell me to go for the cookies! 😀
So, there you have it! The simple, yet, fantastic shelf that The Husband made out of wood for our 5 year anniversary. I LOVE it and can’t believe how much space I have now. I am sure I’ll find a way to fill it 🙂
