Happy Sunday all! I have to say we have had such a busy, but, fun weekend. It doesn’t hurt that my day started off with a 1.8 LB Loss for my first Post Vacation Weigh In after a week on track!!! I will be honest though ~ I actually had “visions of a HUGE” loss in my head ~ you know because you always read all the magazine articles that tell you once you go back to eating normal the weight just falls off.
1.8 IS REALLY good for me and it means I am only 1 LB away from losing the 2.8 lbs I somehow found on vacation….(insert a cheesy smiley here!)
It’s definite motivation going into this week where I have at least 4 meals out!
I LOVE My Weight Watchers Meeting ~ seriously ~ look how she spoils us……
Breakfast involved a 3 points+ Gingerbread man…
That you all know I have to ask ~ what part do you bite off first??? I ALWAYS bite the head….what does that say about me?! That I am not a foot, arm or “button” person? LOL….
She also brought in my absolute FAVORITE 1 points+ Cookies (& spread) in the world ~ Biscoff that I saved for later.
I had 1/2 a Whole Wheat Bagel Thin with 1 Tbsp Raspberry Preserves (3 points+) and 7 almonds (Yup, you get exactly 7 for 1 points+)
On our way up to the Sacramento Antique Fair, we decided to stop for Starbuck’s to keep our hands warm as we walked around.
I ordered an “Extra Hot Dirty Latte” ~ ff, decaf latte with 1 pump mocha (4 points+).
I ordered Soup, Salad & Stix.
Mary’s Side Salad with 1 Tbsp Ranch (fork dipped!) on the side (4 points+)
Vegetable Beef Soup that was surprisingly delicious & spicy (4 points+)
I also LOVE to savor a few crackers and/or a bready item whenever I am having soup and/or salad because it really helps me feel satisfied with “just a salad or soup”. Sometimes thought, I just can’t resist it like these….
Mary’s Pizza Shack Pesto Bread Sticks (5 points+ each)
It was so hard to keep it to one stick, but, I DID IT!
I think having one of The Husband’s meatballs helped me just say no to eating all of the “stix”. They really are as delicious as they look ~ I had 1 for 6 points+.
We both were not super hungry for dinner so we decided on salad. I made up a gigantic salad bowl so we have our salad mix for the next day or two.
In the mix:
- Organic Mixed Greens
- Organic Romaine
- Organic Shredded Carrots & Red Cabbage
- Organic Broccoli Slaw
- Then, we topped our salads with cucumber, mini bell peppers, 1 Tbsp Sunflower Seeds and 2 Tbsp dried cranberries (2 points+)
- Dressing ~ 2 Tbsp Trader Joe’s LF Spicy Peanut Vinaigrette & 1 Tbsp Rice Vinegar (2 points+)
I mentioned to The Husband we didn’t have any protein ~ he pulled out more Aidell’s Hawaiian Chicken Meatballs (3 for 3 points+)
While I made up the salads, he made up fruit salads for dessert!
HERE IS WHAT IS ON THE MENU THIS WEEK:
It’s hard to get back into my cooking groove after our vacation, but, I’ve decided to jump in head first with a few easy things. Totally subject to change.
- Spicy Chicken and BACON Stir Fry over Brown Rice
- Super Easy Chicken, Bacon & Grape Salad
- Tortellini Soup or Bacon Baked Tortellini
- Bubble Up Pizza Casserole
- Braised Kale with smoked sausage and brown rice

Night all!
I am on my way through the computer screen for a meatball and a breadstick….. just so you know! 😉 Congrats on your 1.8 loss after a week on track. That’s a great head start to getting back to where you were prevacation. Funny how we can FIND weight so quickly but have trouble losing it just as fast! hehe
YEAH to your menu, you know it’s my favorite 🙂 It’s so great that you have a good meeting! That’s the reason I switched to on-line 🙁 After almost a year, the leader still didn’t remember my name, and there were always pc problems signing in, that you would stand in line almost the whole meeting some weeks…oh well…I’m thinking about going back when I get closer to goal just to get free eTools 🙂 We’ll see! Glad you enjoyed your vaca, but also glad you’re back!
Your post just made me sooo hungry!
Congrats on the great loss!
BIG thank you for the reminder of the TJ’s Spicy Peanut Dressing…I totally forgot about it. I ate that every day in the summer on my salads…I miss it! (How sad – I miss dressing?)
Congrats on your success! And a perfect way to celebrate with a festive holiday cookie 😛 IDK why, but I choose to eat the head off first too haha!
P.S. I’m thinking tortellini soup this week too!
Welcome back!! Congrats on your 1.8lb loss! I finally hit my 5% goal on Saturday and I’m even more excited about WW than I was the day I joined in October 🙂 Love your meal plans for this week!!!
Congrats on he 5% Jen!!!! You are doing awesome 😀
Since most peoples weight varies up to 5lbs throughout the DAY, does weight watchers (or anyone really) consider 1.8lbs a loss (or gain, if it was an increase) ??
I personally have a 4lb range so basically it would take a 5lb difference either way to be considered weight loss/gain
Losing and gaining the same 2lbs is just floating around within your range, no?
Considering that most of us WW members weigh in on the same day, same time from week to week, YES we do consider a 1.8 pound loss a loss. If it is 1.8 pounds LESS than the last time you had weigh in…it’s a loss. Those stickers in the weigh in books don’t lie. 🙂
Hi Amy,
Thanks for the feedback and yes, I honestly do. My weight can fluctuate throughout the day/week depending on what I eat, the time of the month, if I tracked, etc. This is why I wear the same clothes every week and weigh in on the same day/time. Actually it is one reason Weight Watchers encourages people to weigh in at the same time and same day each week ~ for consistency. Every body is different and not everyone gains/loses the same weight throughout the day/week or at the same rate. You are very lucky that you gain/lose in 4+ lb increments, I would LOVE that. I have never gained/lost more than 5 lbs in one week. My highest weight loss (aside from when I was hospitalized with a virus) is 3.6 lbs in a week.
I consider my vacation gain a success ~ up 2.8 lbs for a 3 week vacation for me is honestly really good. I have gained more than that on a 10 day vacation in the past. Coming back and getting right back on track losing 1.8 lbs is also awesome for me. Sure, some could look at it as gaining/losing the same weight, but, you know what, I am that much closer to losing the weight I found on vacation with only 1 lb to go! Usually my body averages about a 1 lb +/- weight loss a week so I doubled my average this week. It was almost like I was able to take 3 weeks off to give myself a break from tracking to enjoy life & experience things I never have in the past, yet maintain. To me maintaining is SUCCESS!
I am not perfect, but, I also do not claim to be ~ I am not a die hard dieter that gives up everything even on vacation. I am realistic in knowing from past experience that is not sustainable for me. What is sustainable is allowing myself to eat good 80% of the time for the 20% I choose to indulge. This has worked for me and as a result I continue to be in a net loss position and continue to lose weight (even if I maintain for a week or two in the middle). It is truly a lifestyle and one you work on everyday, not just for so many months or until you reach your “goal weight”.
Everyone has different reasons and results for how they approach their journeys. I know some people who honestly go to Weight Watchers and work the program just to maintain (success) because the alternative would be gaining a lot of weight. This person I know who comes to mind has maintained their 100 lb loss for 16 years even though she could/should lose more weight.
Thanks again for the feedback ~ I always love hearing about everyone’s journey and how their weight loss works for them.

Congratulations on the weight loss! Besides vacation, this time of year has so many tempting foods. You inspire me.
So I just returned from vacation and weighed in before sleeping. Weight was 158 the next morning was 156 then this morning 153.4. What and why does this happen!?
Sandy,
There are so many variables that can cause your weight to fluctuate from water retention, to the type and/or quantities of food you had the night before to the type of food. I also know I weigh more at night then I do in the morning and what I eat/drink that day impacts the scale at night.
Hope you had a great vacation!
