My Weight Watchers E-Tools & Apps Presentation

March 25, 2012 by DanicasDaily 31 Comments

Happy Sunday all! Thanks for all the tips on what to download and ways to use my IPOD Touch.  I have to say I am pretty addicted to using it for everything right now LOL.  For all those who attended My Weight Watchers E-Tools and Apps Presentation this morning, I now have the links available for you to view and print the presentations.

I really tried to make the presentation friendly with screen shots to walk you through how to get around.  I also made sure to highlight/include links for all the recipes we served up today.

Feel free to email me at danicasdaily at gmail dot com or leave a comment below for any questions you have.

WW-Mobile-Screen

This morning I was up at 5 AM to make up two batches of these Coconut Donut Holes to go with our coffee bar at the meeting.  You can find the recipe here.

I had 4 of them to “test” them out for breakfast (4 points+).

My leader is AWESOME ~ check out all the cool stuff we had for our presentation.

THE COFFEE BAR!

THE BREAKFAST BAR ~ complete with all the “fixin’s”.

IMG_5605

THE HIGH FIBER MENU ~ to go with the “Weekly Topic”.

IMG_5623

I did try out one of these Weight Watchers Orange Pecan Mini Muffins ~ they are delicious and only 2 points+ each.  You can find the recipe here.

IMG_5604

Last night I put two versions of my Slow Cooker Steel Cut Oats on so they would be ready for the high fiber oatmeal bar.  You can use any fruit combination that sounds good using this recipe.

1/2 cup = 2 points+, 1 cup = 4 points+.

The TOPPINGS BAR complete with that homemade Coconut Almond Granola I made yesterday.

Baked Oatmeal! You can find the recipe here.

After spending all morning at Weight Watchers helping everyone get set up with their Weight Watchers E-Tools and Apps, I let The Husband pick what he wanted for lunch.

He picked Red Robin because he wanted these Game Day Nachos (for the record, these are 32 points+ for the entire platter!)  I did try a few because honestly….who can resist this!

IMG_5627

OK ~ SUPER COOL REALIZATION HERE!

Red Robin has a FREE APP on my IPOD that let’s you customize your meal adding/deleting ingredients and then it gives you the nutritional stats.

It’s totally “enlightening” to see how crazy high some of their foods are.

red-robin

I ordered the South Western Chicken Salad with the salsa ranch on the side and skipping the fried jalapeno chips you see on the plate.

This salad was HUGE, but, it totally hit the spot. (12 points+)

IMG_5629

Neither of us felt like cooking and I wanted something that was lighter for dinner.

Enter ~ The MICROWAVE OMELET! It’s SO easy to make!

1.  Start off by spraying a bowl with nonstick spray.

2.  Add your favorite OMELET ingredients.  I had time to chop up a zucchini and a mini roma then tossed them with 1/2 cup Egg Beaters, 2 Tbsp LF Mexican Cheese, TAPATIO Hot Sauce, sea salt and pepper.

**If you do not have time to chop, whirl it all up in your Magic Bullet pulsating to chop it up.  It doesn’t look pretty, but, it works just the same.

IMG_8904

Microwave for 2 minutes.  Leave in a bowl shape for your omelet or use a fork to mix and scramble.

The entire bowl is only 2 points+.

IMG_8907

Served up with an apple for dessert!

IMG_5637

My menu this week is TBD since I want to use up what we have on hand and shop from our fridge/freezer.

Night all!

      Hi Emily,

Oh, you know, I didn’t even realize I missed out on posting about it. I actually was up a bit this week but it was well deserved since I stopped tracking mid week. I am determined to make this week a 100% tracking week to make up for it. So far so good!

      Thanks for asking,

      Danica

Wow! Love your WW app presentation! Have already bookmarked and sent to a few of my fellow ww friends. Another great app – that I actually started using last year before WW developed its own scanner, is called “fooducate”. It is really helpful, especially when first starting, because not only will it scan an item in the store and give you points, BUT it also scores the product – and gives you alternative better choices. That durn Trader Joe’s almost always shows up as an “A” choice, but we still don’t have them in Texas. Now that I am more familiar with my choices, I don’t use it as much but still use when I am buying something new just to make sure its the best choice I can make! Love these recipes too! Yum! We can’t bring food to our WW meeting. I wish we could, everyone would get such great ideas!

    Hey Danica!

First love your blog, second almonds are now 5 points+ for one ounce – they were on the list of foods that went up this year. Not sure if a 1/2 serving is still 2 or now 3pp. (The menu from your meeting shows one ounce as 4pp).

      Hi Elle,

I asked my leader about the almonds and she calculated it from the slivered almonds bag she bought. Maybe there is a difference between whole versus slivered? I do know it can vary by brand.

Great catch and thanks for letting me know,

      Danica

Thanks so much for sharing your presentation! So generous of you. I adore E-Tools AND that awesome Red Robin customizer app (I have it on my iPhone and my new iPad that my husband refurbished after our friend shattered her screen/back and donated it to us as a bday gift to me). It is so handy… and you’re right, super enlightening about how high so many of their items are!

      Hi Shandrelle,

You can definitely make this with egg whites and/or eggs, I’ve done it using both and it is just as delicious.

It makes me so happy that so many restaurants are making their nutrition menus available and apps make it even easier! Not only is it good for people checking calories or tracking points, but it also helps knowing what the ingredients of a dish are!

Danica, If I have an iPod touch with the camera, do you think the scanner app would work if the grocery store has wifi access? I know I’d love a smart phone but have other budget priorities right now.

      Hi Kim,

Ok, I tested this out at home last night and it didn’t work. It said the IPOD camera is not supported by the scanner 🙁 Bummer since it let’s you download the app.

Thank you so much for trying it! I have an iPod touch but it’s older and doesn’t have the camera. I was considering getting a new one. But now I know that it won’t work. I would’ve been so disappointed. Thanks again.

It never ceases to amaze me how important accountability is. I know when I get stressed or busy with work or projects, I stop tracking and lets me tell myself it’s “okay” to cheat a little – I know this week you will lost what you gained – and more!

    Hi Danica…

Your presentation was awesome…I thought I already knew a lot, but you taught me even more! I use e-tools on my computer and my iPhone everyday and I never paid attention to the meals, recipes, or grocery list. I am sooo excited to explore! I have a random question…what are date nuggets? I just discovered dates a few months ago and thought they were 0pp…now I am totally confused on the pp value and portion size…please help if you can…thanks!

      Hi Becky,

      Thank you!

Date Nuts are just like dates, but, smaller – it’s like the dried version coated in powdered sugar.

I am not sure about dates, but, I believe they are dried and therefore there can be a points+ value depending on how many you eat. The 0 points+ applies only to fresh whole fruits and veggies.

      Hope that helps.

The friend who referred me to your blog mentioned that you are from the Sacramento, CA area – do you mind sharing where as I live in Sacramento and am a WW staff member. Just curious where you attend meetings. I’m so glad I found out about your great postings and have been sharing this information with my members!

      Hi Liz,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I have an Ipad2 as well and have the same problem. I am wondering if they developed the app needing adobe although it’s only for apple so I am not sure. I hope they fix the video part soon (maybe we should email them!) because that would be an awesome feature to see 🙂

      Thanks for asking,

      Danica
