Hi all! The second part of our driving New England adventure started in the Berkshires. I packed up our picnic lunch, the list of waterfalls and short day hikes before we hit the road. First up was Wahconah Falls. It’s a short 1/4 mile walk down this path. Before you arrive to the falls. It is so peaceful and beautiful here.I have to say one of my favorite things about driving all over the East Coast is seeing all the cute towns aka villages and the scenery is beautiful.
We knew we would be a bit early to see the leaves change but we figured that was better than driving in the snow.
Funny fact about us….every time we see some color like this, we point and say Fall Colors!
The Husband is also a fan of all the barns, churches and stopping to take pictures of any red building.I love how our navigator says “Welcome to whatever state we enter” or seeing a sign when we cross a town line (something I stop to take pictures of).The second waterfall we visited was the Glendale Falls. This was my number 1 pick because it included a short hike and has five square miles of watershed flowing into it.You can see the top of the falls with a 1/4 mile walk. Sadly there wasn’t too much water flowing. So, we continued down the trail that includes some natural stone steps, wooden stairs, dirt/gravel and it’s all downhill at first for about 1/2 mile. He wasn’t too big of a fan of the hiking part or having me take his picture along the way lol.He did stop to point out “the bugs” though. This caterpillar kinda freaks me out but I still had to take a picture. Here is the waterfall from the bottom of the trail. After having our picnic, we decided to abandon the rest of the waterfalls after this one figuring most will not have much water this time of year and spent the day driving through different towns shopping. My eats were not fancy but I made most of them in our Berkshire Mountain Lodge Condo.

Beautiful scenery- hope to get there one day. BTW, the caterpillar is from an American Dagger Moth. I only know as we had one in our yard this summer in IL. Glad I didn’t touch it as some say it causes allergic reactions. Unique though! Enjoying your NE trip vicariously. Great pics!
