New GOALS

June 30, 2010 by DanicasDaily 17 Comments

Happy Hump Day all!!  I LOVE it when my day starts off with Farmer’s Market Friday on Wednesday :D  My co-worker did an awesome job picking out the COOLEST selection from the Berkeley Bowl for all of us to sample.

For the first time ever in my life I tried a Kiwano Horned Fruit….I couldn’t resist the cool colors!  (OMG ~ the descriptions on this how to have me rolling on the floor ~ Yup, I am totally a kid like that!

Have any of you ever had these???

IMG_5721

Prickly on the outside, funky green on the inside.  The texture is like slimy seeds with crunchy seeds ~ sorta like a melon/kiwi/cucumber flavor.  I didn’t eat the skin…I am not that brave.

Hornet Melon

I had plate #1 for Breakfast!

IMG_5720

* 3 Organic Strawberries

* 1 Orange Wedge

* 1 slice Cantaloupe

* ! bite of a Quince fruit from New d(the apple looking thing in the middle – super weird – it’s like a tart apple that dries your mouth out like red wine)

* A couple of banana chips

* Handful of Blueberries

I estimated my plate to be 2-3 points.

I had plate #2 for my mid morning snack!  I LOVE CHEESE!!!!

IMG_5726

* 2 types of Clover Cheese ~ 1 hot, 1 not (3 pts)

* 3 small slices of baguette (1 pt)

* 1 Everything Cracker (.5 pts)

* BBQ Roasted Almonds that are possibly my FAVORITE flavor (4 pts)

* I do NOT like Salami at all, but, a few of my Co-Workers have worked for Columbus and told me I had to try it….Yup, conclusion after 1 bite, nope I still don’t LOL (.5 pts)

I was rushing around this morning so The Husband put my lunch together while I got ready ~ I <3 him!

I started off with a BIG salad topped with 1 Tbsp TJ’s Spicy Peanut Dressing (1 pt)

IMG_5732

Then, I moved onto the main entree ;)  I am not a big fan of frozen meals for two reasons

1.  The ingredient lists sometimes scare me and

2.  They NEVER fill me up

IMG_5727

But, they sometimes work great in a pinch and I LOVE the flavor of this Weight Watchers Thai Style Chicken. (I even LOVE the Carrots….even though I have a friend who picks them all out….scarred by too many carrots from dieting I’m sure 😉 xoxo, CZ!

IMG_5729

WW is getting better about their ingredient lists too – mostly recognizable (not perfect) but definitely better.

IMG_5730

Sticky, peanutty rice noodles for only 5 pts ~ You know I dumped Sriracha all over this 😀

IMG_5735

After work I headed out to my Weight Watcher’s Meeting.  I’ve decided it’s time to set some goals to work towards because honestly I NEED to have something to work on to be successful.

This week I am going to

  —> journal EVERY SINGLE BITE I take and count it all ~ including measuring out a serving.

  —> Drink 80+ oz water each day

  —> Focus on meeting all 9 Healthy Guidelines daily

  —> Bust out my Week 1 materials and read through each week like today is my first day back at Weight Watchers….It never hurts to brush up 🙂

My SHORT TERM GOAL is to lose 12 lbs before we go on our Bahamas Cruise in August!

I think that  my goals are very do-able and realistic.  I think I will probably join in with my WW friend and set up a bank account to add $10 for each pound lost so at the end, I have $120 to spend on clothes or anything I might want 😀

ANYONE ELSE WANT TO JOIN IN TOO???

We had dinner at Vasquez and I decided to mix things up a bit from my usual 2 Spicy Chicken Tacos….this time I had a Spicy Chicken Tostada ~ it was the Guacamole that sold me!  (8 points)

Vasquez Deli Chicken Tostada

Completely delicious and filling ~ this might be my new favorite!

1 1/2 days til the LONG weekend begins – woohoo!

I just realized I have to actually do some testing first for the Giveaway I have lined up for you all…..My new goal is to have it posted by this weekend! Trust me, you will want to win this one because it includes the COOLEST dishware set!

Night all!

    Woah, what a cool looking fruit! I don’t think I’ve ever had one but it does look so interesting.

    Great set of new goals. It’s good to continue to challenge ourselves, even when our previous goals have been met. It’s always good to have something to strive for! 🙂 You Go Girl!

    I’ve had one of those horned melon fruits before. I bought it just because it looked so interesting, but I just couldn’t handle the gel texture!

    Haha, loved the shout out! Why, WHY must all diet meals have so many evil carrots in them?!?!

    I have had the Kiwano fruit, it was on a fruit plate I had in Hawaii earlier this year. I loved how sour it was! I should start looking for them in the store, I completely forgot about them until now.

    Good luck with your new goals.

    Ohhh weird fruit! Cool though!

    I like your $10 for every pound you lose til vacation! What if you lose 15 instead of 12? Giving yourself the extra 30 dollars?

    I LOVE that thai one! Last time I did a lot of frozen meals and I gained all my weight back. This time I am trying to focus on more natural foods, etc. But, like you said, in a pinch, you have to go frozen sometimes, and the WW ones I think taste a lot less salty than they used to. Have you tried any of the Healthy Choice ones? Some of their pasta ones are good tasting and have (relatively) decent stats. I like the portabella ones myself.

    Good luck with your goals! I am trying to lose another 10 myself before August, but it’s slow going for me. Best of luck!
