Overachiever!

June 2, 2013 by DanicasDaily 19 Comments

Happy Sunday all!  This weekend has been such a fun weekend, I am so sad to see it come to an end.  It all started off yesterday when I had the opportunity to attend the Weight Watchers Live Life Active Event to chat about my story and our new Light Grape Light Wines.

IMG_5017

I know the question you all have been asking is how can I get my hands on these wines that are ONLY 1 points+ per 5 ounce?!  We are working to get in in the market place and here are 3 things you can do:

1.  Go to your favorite place to buy wine and request it!  It is now with our distributors and they are just waiting for consumers to ask for it at their local stores.  Next week, our website, The Light Grape will have a store locator so you can find which stores near you carry it.

2.  Call 800-605-9771 to place an order ~ all month long shipping is $5 regardless of how much you order and they are offering a special discount on mixed and full cases.

3.  Visit the Geyser Peak Winery and buy it in the tasting room.

The fun Weight Watchers crew I had the chance to work with on Saturday.

IMG_5007

The member stories were my favorite part along with the smoothie bar, free recipe book and of course, checking out all the other vendors ~ so much fun!

IMG_5008IMG_5004

Two other things that made Saturday amazing ~ We saw the movie Now You See Me ~ it’s so good that I want to watch it again and my niece had her baby girl. Red heart

All of that was just Saturday ~ Sunday, we were up bright and early to head over to do a fly by weigh in before heading to the Alameda Antique Fair.  I was up 1.4 lbs, but, you what, I totally earned these as I didn’t track these last 4 days.

So, today, I am back at it with a fresh week determined to make it a better one.

My road trip drink ~ a Venti Iced Dirty Coffee (coffee with 2 pumps mocha) – 1 points+

IMG_5028

Breakfast involved more Kodiak Cakes!  I am so completely addicted to these tasty flapjacks at the moment.  ~ Fun fact ~ I will be giving some away to you all this week.

2 Flapjacks with 1 Tbsp. melted whipped butter & 1 Tbsp. pure maple syrup (7 points+)

IMG_4922

2 slices of Trader Joe’s Peppered Turkey Bacon drizzled with a little syrupy goodness 2 points+

IMG_4921

Served up with a side of Farmer’s Market Fruit ~ a peach (without the funky fuzz), strawberries and blueberries.

IMG_4923

We spent about 4 hours walking all around the fair.  I couldn’t wait to log onto my phone to see how many steps Flex said we went….It totally made my day to see that Flex thinks I am an Overachiever today with all that walking Open-mouthed smile

Overachiever

The Husband bribed me into going with him to the fair with promises of sushi at Yokoso Sushi!

I started with my usual sesame salad, miso soup and green tea. 5 points+.

IMG_5032

Then moved onto My favorite roll they make ~ The Tuna Steak made spicy (the top it with Sriracha just for me) ~ I then, make it even hotter by taking my entire wasabi blob and mixing it with soy sauce for dipping.  I never eat the ginger. 8 points+

spicy crabmeat topped w/ seared tuna and spicy sauces

IMG_3763

After taking a 2+ hour nap, we headed out for froyo!  Today’s mix was probably one of the best I’ve made in a long time.

Chocolate Caramel Turtle Froyo, Vanilla Froyo, a sprinkle of roasted almonds, yogurt chips, Captain Crunch!, sprinkles (for color) and a little caramel. 6 points+

IMG_5042

Dinner was totally inspired by Diners, Drive-Inns and Dives.  The Husband ended up watching a BBQ special while I was sleeping and when I woke up declared he wanted BBQ….um, ok!

I wasn’t really hungry so I had half this boneless pork rib ~ 2 oz. to be precise topped with his secret sauce and secret rub. 2 points+

IMG_5044

1/3 cup mac n cheese spirals 3 points+

IMG_5045

Corn!

IMG_5048

Salad with fat free balsamic drizzled on top.

IMG_5049

All together with The Husband’s added touch ~ he said I had open space so he added a fork filled with a little of his BBQ smoked turkey sausage (funny guy!)

IMG_5051

All that walking earned me two badges today with Flex!

I totally dig that there were a bunch of Hooray balloons when I logged Flex online tonight.  Motivation!

I am still working through my emails, comments, etc. catching up with you all ~ I will get there soon.  Thank you for being so patient.

STATS:

  • 34 Daily Points+, 6 WPA used, 43 WPA remaining
  • FLEX: 16,802 steps, 7.0 miles, 2,737 calories burned

QUESTION OF THE DAY:

What is one fun thing you did this weekend?

Night all!

Ha! I totally watched that Triple D! Can’t ever get enough BBQ. We just tried the Trader Joes Hawaiian short ribs and they were delish.

Your WW location/group is SO special. In my 25 years of going to WW, I’ve never heard of a group like yours. You’re so lucky. I have to get back to meetings soon. Hugs!

I agree! You are so lucky to be in such a great WW Group…my leader was the reason I quit and went to on-line 🙁 We are addicted to Triple D and love to watch his marathons! And last…you KNOW I’m on the wine 🙂

Grats on the 15K steps! I need to start back up on that now that the weather is neither sweltering or freezing (Ah, Canada, how we love thy weathery mood swings).

This weekend was rather active. Did some yard work, did the groceries for the week, did some cooking (your potato salad rocks!), helped build a shed, dislocated a shoulder… fun.

Triple D is such a fun show to watch. Canada now has You Gotta Eat Here, basically the Canadian version of Triple D since the only places Guy seems to get to are Toronto and Vancouver. The only difference is the host is not a chef, but a comedian. It’s fun though.

We don’t do any fun things like that at our WW meetings. The leader speaks and that’s it. Is FizBit a free app?

P.S. How much is the wine? Didn’t give a price on the website (or at least I didn’t see it).

    Danica,
I remember you waited until the newest Fit Bit came onto the market. What is the difference in the one you just purchased, and the Fit Bit One, that clips to your clothing? Love your posts!

Can we talk about the wine? What do you do to make it so much lower in points? I’m wary of artificial ingredients and things like that, which is usually the case when something normally high in points/calories is made into a lower points/calorie version. It’s especially hard with alcohol since companies aren’t required to put any nutritional information on it, so I was just wondering! 🙂

I am with Brittany on the wine… however, I am not really all that concerned about the ingredients, I just want some low-point wine! Lol! Do you know how much the wine will be selling for? And how much it costs per bottle over the phone?

I called the 800#. $13 bottle. Special 4 pack (one of each) 10% off. You can purchase a case (12) mix and match 20% off and total case ships for $1 (if you are in an approved state which I am – Michigan).

I bought the flex early this week. I love it but noticed one flaw – while driving I managed to clock up over 1000 steps. Going to have to remember to remove it while driving.
It’s ok if you’re the passenger though.
