Do you ever have one of those days where you just know you should’ve stayed home?! Yesterday was one of those days, but, it all ended on a great note!
I woke up, had my pre-workout banana, got ready and for once had time to spare when heading to the train station. Usually I am rushing all over and dreading missing it. I am not really sure why because it’s not the end of the world if I do…I simply catch the next one.
Only today the train was LATE!
No worries…..except by the time I got to the gym to workout all the treadmills were taken. I tried the elliptical for 2 minutes before I decided I’d just come back later.
My 33 minute jog/walk was tough mentally and physically but I “putt-putted” through it!
After my run, the showers were full and I missed a webinar I wanted to attend….Not a huge thing because it was voluntary but….
THE BIGGEST ISSUE
For SOME REASON Google has decided I shouldn’t be able to email ANYONE for 24 hours……
Somehow Google thinks I sent 500 emails which I am pretty sure even if I tried, I couldn’t…but, even after looking at my sent folder, there is nothing
I promise I am not ignoring your emails or texts since my phone has also decided texting wasn’t a good thing at all.
Some days…as much as I am a geek about technology, it’s not on my side.
I think the good thing is I can smile/laugh at it all…..Peanut Butter always makes things better (7 points+)
Especially when paired with my favorite fruit of the season!
Since yesterday was a “day” I decided to head out to take up my co-workers lunch invite. I was actually really proud of myself because I stuck to my healthy theme with only ONE taco and a BIG Organic Salad when I really wanted to dive into chips, salsa & guacamole!
“Taco de Pollo– crispy taco filled with shredded organic chicken, cheese, cucumber-tomato salsa and cilantro.”
I think next time I am ordering a BIG CONTAINER of their spicy pickled veggies too…I “might” eat them over chips…maybe…you never know…..
“Ensalada de Primavera– mixed greens, shredded cabbage, carrots, red onion and avocado tossed in a lemon vinaigrette, sprinkled with toasted pumpkin seeds.”
Deliciousness! I estimated 5 points+ for my taco and 6 points+ for my salad.
All “washed” down with Agua De Mineral…Mingeragua seems harder to say lol.
Train snacks! I actually LOVED that I had the entire train cart to myself to rock out, blog and eating delicious fruit…..
Plus Weight Watchers Cinnamon Pop Chips (2 points+). I NEED to buy more of these.
As soon as I walked in the door we headed out to pick up our nephews. We let them pick where they wanted to eat and they picked Fresh Choice ~ I LOVE that!
I made another HUGE Salad (the brown things are roasted carrots – they were weird).
Sesame KALE Salad!
Regular salad with everything crunchy, sweet and chewy I could find
Even though it was a million degrees outside, I couldn’t resist trying their Fresh Corn Chowdah. It was delicious…..
Dessert!
We let them pick a movie, bowling or Put Put Golf. They picked golf!
Doesn’t’ the coarse look like a fancy neighborhood?
The Husband had fun “teasing” them pretending his ball got stuck but really making sure he got the “hole in one”.
By the time we got home, I wasn’t ready to find out if blogging would work or not so I took the night off….it’s summer after all

That taco you had for lunch looks yummy!
That putt putt course looks pretty cool. I love the different houses. All the courses I have seen have the basic things like the windmill, a clown and other silly things, but I am really digging those houses!
Robyn @ Blueberries and Oats says
Good for you for sticking to your workout though! Hope today goes better for you!
That mini golf course looks awesome! I tried to mini golf just last week at the only “course” in town. Well it turned out to be 8 holes behind a bowling alley that had no obstacles or anything. The ground wasn’t even level! So I am slightly jealous of your super sweet course! ~.^
Btw, impressive array of colorful food intake!

Danica, where do you find Weight Watchers Cinnamon Pop Chips? Would you mind posting a picture of the bag, or exact name of the product? These look so good, but I can’t find them in any local grocery stores, and couldn’t find them on amazon.com.
Thanks!
Lynn

Lynn- those cinnamon sna ms are available @ Weight Watcher meeting sites. Probably online too.
We call it Putt-putt golf in the deep south too.
Roz says
Hi Danica, looks like a great day yesterday!!!! I’d have picked “putt putt” over bowling or a movie on a nice night like last night too!!! Have a great day!
DanicasDaily says
Hi Lynn,
I pick up the Cinnamon Chips at my local Weight Watchers meeting. Anyone can buy them. Go to http://www.weightwatchers.com and click on find a meeting to find a location near you. They are usually open 30 minutes before/after each meeting plus during open hours.
Here is a picture of my bag. When I buy a new box I will post it.

I am not sure if you can buy them online….might be more. I think they are either $3.50 or $4.50 a box at the meeting and there are 5 or 6 packs in a box.
IMO ~ totally worth it and I don’t say that too often for WW packaged products!

Glad to know I’m not the only one who had a “day” yesterday! I locked my keys in the car, my husband’s car battery died, I had to go to the store THREE times….there’s more, but let’s just say I know how you feel! I’m making up for it today by taking myself to Whole Foods for lunch. Yes! xoxo

We call it putt putt golf too where I am from in the south. I read somewhere that Aldi’s has cinnamon chips similar to those and they are 1.99 a box, same taste and same points, Aldi’s Fit and Active .
Melissa @ Journey to Marvelous says
That looks like a great mini golf course! I’ve never called it putt-putt, I trade off between calling it miniature golf and mini golf. I haven’t played in a while…you’re inspiring me to go try it again soon!

Peanut butter does make everything better and chocolate too! Looks like a good time playing golf!
MzSlyde says
UGH that salad looks scrumptious and is making me hungry. I do have a question for you – I don’t have trader joe’s and everytime I see a post of your famous Spicy Asian Peanut Slaw I get a little disappointed. Do you know of any other comparable spicy asian peanut dressing I can buy? Like something similar that I could find at someplace like Walmart or somewhere. I do have a Roots Market here maybe I can stop by and see if they have anything similar. Just wondering. BECAUSE IT LOOKS YUMMY.
Biz says
You had me at pickled vegetables – I may have to recreate those at home! Glad the day ended up on a good note! 😀
DanicasDaily says
HI MzSlyde,
Lite House makes a similar peanut dressing in the fridge section that is pretty tasty and has even better stats – you get 2 Tbsp for 1 points+. It is carried in most grocery stores. I’ve never checked to see if Walmart carries it but you would find it in the produce section I would imagine.

Definitely mini golf!

We call it mini golf or goofy golf. We do it every year for a company picnic at a small amusement park here in town. Fun with all the kids involved.
Love seeing all the yummy food you eat. I wish I could find yummy places like that here in town. I might have to come visit you for a week or so! 🙂
