Happy Sunday all! Today was the FIRST day since Memorial Day that The Husband and I had ZERO plans. We pondered several ideas of things to do last night from sitting on our booties to heading out of town, going to the movies and more.
He decided that today needed to be an “US” day….which meant, NO COOKING & DOING FUN THINGS! I had no idea what he had in mind…..
We headed out to breakfast to one of our FAVORITE local places called The Joy of Eating. You all know I LOVE their BLTA’s, but, I LOVE their breakfast probably more.
Veggie Omelet without cheese and with egg whites
….it’s loaded with mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, tomatoes and it’s only 2 points+!
What makes EVERYTHING they make is their sweet, Hawaiian homemade bread.
I ALWAYS get it “dry” (no butter), topped 1 slice with Blackberry Jam and slice in quarters.
Add 2 slices of their THICK Apple Wood Smoked Bacon…..
To make a BACONWICH!!! (8 points+) (Thanks Tracey for showing me the way!)
Finished with fruit instead of hashed browns ~ not too shabby for a 10 points+ breakfast!
We then took off to Cache Creek, our local Indian Casino. The Husband said he has earned some gambling time and I earned some SPA TIME!!!
ENTER AN ENTIRE AFTERNOON AT THE SPA!!!!!
~ I got a facial, massage, pedicure and read 4 magazines all while he gambled away.
I did snack on an apple with lots of fun herbal teas and water at the spa but didn’t want to take out my camera and have people wonder what I was doing.
Best, afternoon ever…..maybe….just one of the million reasons why I LOVE him!
On our way back we stopped at The Buckhorn Steakhouse in Winters!! We went here last year for our anniversary and LOVED it.
We were both starving and dove into their hot, San Francisco Sour Dough Bread. I had 2 slices (4 points+)
Refreshing Side Salad with Ranch (4 points+)
We shared their Pick 2~BBQ Special Platter ~ it was so cheap ~ all of this was only $13.99!
Melt in your mouth Char Roasted sirloin. I had the bottom slice (about 3 oz) for 5 points+.
St. Louis Style Ribs ~ the meat fell off the bone ~ sweet, tangy & tasty!
I had 1 rib for 5 points+
I LOVE how you could taste the sweet maple & smokiness in their baked beans.
I had about 1/4 cup (half of what you see here) ~ 2 points+
This place is totally worth driving all the way out to Winters just to eat there lol.
We had 2 other sides…Broccoli BACON salad which I knew he wouldn’t touch
I ate it all….4 points+ for 1/2 cup
He picked BACON Macaroni & Cheese! I LOVE how all their sides have a BACON theme.
This was SO CHEESY & RICH, you couldn’t eat that much. I have a few bites and called it good at 5 points+.
BEST DAY EVER & worth every single points+….but, now, it’s time to get back in the kitchen & do some cooking. I miss it!
