Happy WEEKEND All! Yesterday was such a whirl wind day, but, such a blast too. It started off by moving the last of our belongings from our Napa offices. Then, I spent the rest of the afternoon with one of my FAVORITE friends and had “Date Night” with The Husband. I have to say being sad I will no longer work in Napa ( I LOVED my COMMUTE ~ looking at Vineyards makes traffic not seem so bad) was offset by all the fun things I had planned yesterday.
Breakfast involved a new Nature’s Pride Hearty Wheat with Flax Bread that was sent to my by Foodbuzz as part of the Tastemakers program.
REAL ingredients.
2 Points+ for 1 slice, but, 5 points+ for 2 slices.
I wasn’t willing to spend 5 points+ on 2 slices so I opted to toast one. I LOVE BIG slices of bread and how you can see the flax seeds.
Topped with a “fried egg”.
Sliced in half and turned “diagonally” 4 points+. This was a nice change from my usual bread ~ it’s very “wheat” tasting so The Husband’ wasn’t a fan.
Toped off with a nectarine for good measure.
The COOL part about packing everything up was that we only had to work a half day. TJ and I started planning out our next get together last week after we met to make those delicious mini pizza rolls. We actually pondered cooking in again, but, when, we found out that the Bolani Peeps were going to be at Costco for a roadshow, we KNEW a road trip was in order.
We headed off to her favorite sushi place ~ Yokoso Sushi. Do you all have any idea how excited I am that I have someone to go to sushi with since The Husband doesn’t love it?!
I had a hard time picking what to get since they have pictures on the menu, but, in the end, I knew the Tuna Steak roll was it. I am totally having them spice it up with Sriracha next time.
We started off with a little edamame that we shared (1 point+)
I LOVE their bowls ~ I totally wish I had this for St. Paddy’s day
Miso soup (2 points+)
Salad ~ We both agreed with the dressing it was around 3 points+
I ate ALL of this roll and it was AMAZING! I estimated this based off a Spicy Tuna Roll at 1 points+ a piece. (9 points+) I LOVE this place TJ ~ for the Food and they also had Food Network on TV ~ I can’t wait to go back!! (hint, hint!)
Next up was what our road trip was all about! You all know I totally have a thing for those Bolani Breads and Sauces. I honestly go through withdrawals until the Farmer’s Market comes back each year. Right now during their road show, you can get any 4 things for only $16.99 (total DEAL!)
Did I mention we actually drove about 4 towns over to get these?
We you see the stats you all will know EXACTLY why I LOVE them ~ they are made with REAL ingredients and you get a lot for your points+. Each package contains 4 servings.
My FAVORITE is the Pumpkin ~ 2 Points+ for 1/2, 4 points+ for a whole one.
3 Points+ for 1/2 and 6 Points+ for all ~ My second FAVORITE.
TJ convinced me to give the Lentil Bolani another try since it is her favorite toasted.
3 points for half and 7 points+ for a whole.
Their Sweet Jalapeno is my FAVORITE sauce ever (ok, well, it’s up there with Sriracha) ~ it’s spicy, slightly sweet but not overly sweet.
When we got back to her house I couldn’t wait to have more coffee in her fancy Keurig.
While TJ worked on the coffee, I busted out the Nutella to make up my 2 Point+ Banana Nutella Won Tons.
I let her lick the spoon just so I could snap this picture LOL.
MMMMM ~ Did I ever mention how much I LOVE these? TJ cracked me up with her step by step eating action that you can see here and exclaiming that she would pay money to have these in a restaurant .
Bananas + Nutella are just made for each other!! (6 points+ for 3!)
Before I left, she gave me a cool new product find that I cannot wait to try ! Oven Baked Tostada Shells.
3 points+ for 3 shells! I totally see Turkey Tostadas in my future.
I couldn’t wait to bust into my Bolani as soon as I got home while The Husband showered. I usually just eat mine cold, but, I toasted 1 slice of pumpkin and topped it with a little sweet Jalapeno. It was awesome toasted too ~ 1 point+.
I told The Husband he can pick ANYWHERE he wanted to go tonight and he picked Chipotle LOL. I really wanted their tacos but I knew my day was light in veggies so I opted for my usual salad.
* Lettuce (0)
* Chicken (5)
* Pico de Gallo (0)
* Corn Salsa (1)
* A little cheese (less than a serving) (2)
* GUACAMOLE! (4)
We are hanging out with my niece tonight and she gets to pick whatever she wants to eat/do. I am hoping I get to cook something fun maybe in little wrappers LOL

What is the furthest you have ever gone to find a product you really wanted to try? What did you buy?
I have been known to plan our vacations around certain restaurants I wanted to try or to visit certain stores I always hear you all talk about. Locally ~ I’d say 3 hours to go to Michael’s Deli just to get that Thai salad I LOVE…..1 hour to get BISCOFF and to visit the San Francisco Farmer’s Market
See you all tomorrow with a full weekend recap and my Weekly Menu!
Night all

Looks like SO much fun! I am totally buying some bolani this summer when we visit my husband’s mom in Cali. Can’t find any here in San Antonio 🙁
Last Christmas, we drove around to SIX different Walmarts (1.5 worth or driving) to get the artificial tree we wanted. Craziness. That’s the most I’ve ever gone through to get something I wanted.

I went to every store in our area looking for Naturally More Peanut Butter. Seriously, every store in a 20 mile radius! Finally found it at a store ridiculously close to me that I skipped thinking they would never carry it! Was significantly lower point peanut butter, alas it went up in points + so now i’m not eating it anymore 🙁

I love Bolani products. I used to pick them up regularly at the Farmers’ Market but haven’t for a while. They are going back on my list! 🙂
Plus, sushi & banana Nutella wontons – awesome!
Happy Sunday, and enjoy your niece!

I’ve never heard of Bolani, but now I must find it!!! How do you find out who’s doing a Costco roadshow? Never thought of checking.

That bread looks fantastic… especially with the egg topping! Loving the sushi too. I think it’s an acquired taste as I have some friends who love it and some who hate it! I’m definitely on the love side. 🙂
You guys are adorable… looks like so much fun!
I used to live in a small town that only offered basics, so I did occasionally make 45 minute drives to get my favorite foodie products. Now I’m in a large city that offers everything I need within a few miles. It’s fantastic!

Mmmm, banana and Nutella! I’ll drive just about anywhere for good ice cream. There used to be a sugar-free bakery about an hour away that has loads of low-points treats. Now I’ve given up artificial sweeteners though so I indulge in the real deal every now and then instead – saves gas too. 🙂

The pumpkin bread really peaks my interest. We don’t as far as I know have Bolani around here but I am going to investigate. Looks like a fun day !!

Oh cool! I just saw on the Bolani site that they are available at a Farmer’s Market near my office. Guess where I’ll be heading on Tuesday? LOL

I saw Bolani at Whole Foods over the weekend! I remember looking at it and wondering what it was. Now I’ll have to try it. I thought there was a Whole Foods in the Napa Area, but I would look there. I found them in the refridgerated area where things like tofu and stuff were (at least I think so…) it was right next to the dairy… So I’d look in a cold area! Good luck in finding them!

Hi Tiff,
I actually am not sure ~ I heard you can find out what events are happening at the Costco near you in the flyers you get in the mail. tried looking at the costco.com site as well as just googling “costco roadshows” but I came up with nothing.
I actually learned about this road show directly from the Bolani people…..
Sorry wish I could help more.

I am on a mission to find where they sell this . I was gonna order it online but you have to order a minium of 10 items to place an order. And never have tried it before I don’t want to spend $50 and not like them or just think they are ok but not worth the points or something. I will go to my whole foods (1 1/2 hours away) when I head that way for something.

Hi Jenna,
I know exactly what you mean. Do you live in California? If so, I know they are going to expand the Bolani Breads and Sauces into Farmer’s Markets all over the state. If not, I will be hosting a giveaway soon so you could always enter to win 😀
