Happy Biggest Loser Day all!!! I LOVED reading all the “not so traditional” things that you all eat for breakfast. I have to say, I actually have a few new ideas I want to try. I just need to make up some fried chicken and pizza The Husband’s favorite choice was Pickles! That boy LOVES pickles ~ I honestly buy him the BIG JAR at Costco every 2 weeks. I wish I had a 0 point+ addiction like that
MARCH marks a new month and a NEW Resolution for me. For those who didn’t see my goals this year, I am working on one new thing each month because it is easier to tackle 1 at a time for 30ish days.
Jan ~ Water ~ check! I could still work on consistently drinking more, but, I am getting in the minimum each day.
Feb ~ 28 days of Yoga ~ I NEED a do-over. I didn’t remember until mid month and while I have done it most days since then, I am going to start over in March!
Should I mention now that FEBRUARY was just a Forgetful Month for me ~ including forgetting to celebrating Danica’s Daily Birthday/Anniversary?!
Mar ~ UMMM ~ not sure what I was thinking. Dine out only once a week. I think I need to EASE into this one since I have plans to eat out twice this week already.
I have decided based on your recommendations on Facebook & Twitter today that Take Out and Starbuck’s drinks do not count as dining out.
Venti Iced Dirty Latte (4 points+)
I couldn’t decide what sounded good today for breakfast but I was hungry. I went for simple and had a sourdough English Muffin topped with 1 Tbsp Whipped Butter (5 points+)
Plus some Banana Chips!
Mid morning I decided these Low-Fat Banana Nut Bread Cookies would go awesome with my latte. I was a little hungry but my mouth wanted them so I went with it (4 points+)
The Husband asked me if he could meet me for lunch today last night and of course I said yes without thinking of my goal for March. He said he won’t get the chance to have lunch with me as often once our office moves to another city later this month. I couldn’t say not to that!
We went to Buckhorn and I got my FAVORITE Yik Yak Chicken Salad. (10 point+ estimate)
A crisp mix of greens, cabbages, crispy pasta, cilantro, green onions, jicama, red peppers, snow peas, tossed with sweet sesame dressing & topped with toasted almonds
I LOVE this salad and eat everything except the tortilla (it’s actually not good LOL).
Dinner tonight was Leftovers Made Over! Well, for me…The Husband had a big bowl of pasta with meat sauce, salad and some garlic bread while I had a Grilled Chicken Sausage & Veggie Skewer Salad.
* Organic Mixed Greens & Butter Leaf
* 1 1/2 Veggies/Sausage Skewers (4 points+)
* 1/4 cup grilled corn (1 point+)
* 2 Tbsp Trader Joe’s Balsamic Vinaigrette (2 points+)
My real motivation though was so I could have more of this delicious Alexia Garlic Bread. You get TWO loaves when you buy it and 2 slices for only 3 points+.
NEW AT FRIENDS FOR WEIGHT LOSS
* Featured Recipe ~ Slow Cooker Turkey Sausage Lasagna ~ Did I mention it has bacon, cheese and MORE cheese!!! Thanks for the recipe Shannon, I NEED to try it!

We NEED YOUR IDEAS!!! I think since I am so forgetful lately, it means I NEED a VACATION The Husband and I are thinking of planning another vacation and we have decided we want it to be tropical.
If you could go anywhere “tropical” where would it be and why?
Night all!
Hawaii! I have never been, but love the beach, so I think it would be perfect!
I guess I’d disagree with you that take out doesn’t count as dining out–for me anything that I pay someone else to prepare counts.
i want to go to the greek aisles!
or is it isles? haha yeah, that’s what i meant. although if i was at a grocery store in greece it would be the aisles!
Puerto Rico is soo beautiful we have been twice the FOOD is AMAZING! We also love Hawaii but its so$$ there atleast in Puerto Rico its not as $$ . 🙂 We also did a carribean cruise which is great and you get lots of tropical islands!
I would go to Hawaii… I’ve always wanted to go!!
We live in South FL, and after moving from PA 9 years ago, consider it “tropical” lol…If you want to stay in the Sates come on down to Miami, hit up the Keys, or head over to Sanibel Island off the West Coast of FL…all beautiful if you’ve never been! Gotta try that Alexia bread!!
Turks and Caicos….so beautiful!
I also live in sw Florida and there are so many great beaches, come to Florida….
Love key west!!! We go every year, my husband and I also went on an awesome trip to akumal mexico ( 1 hour south of cancun) and stayed at a beautiful all inclusive gran bahia principe ….. It’s near lots of awesome ruins, cave snorkeling, swimming with sea turtles…
Take a Caribbean cruise. We go at least every other year, sometimes every year. Our next trip is in October to the Eastern Caribbean. The beaches in the Caribbean are beautiful. Cruise with Royal Caribbean International. In our opinion, they are the best! You board the ship, unpack once, and are set for the week!
Bora Bora, I think it would be so cool to stay in one of those huts on the water.
Btw, Dani…
When making the egg salad sandwiches? You don’t have to wait for hard boiled eggs or make sure you have them on hand. I just scramble them in about 30 seconds, and make the egg salad the same way. Tastes egg-zactly the same! ; )
Tropical? Well, for a no-cost tropical vacation…. I wear a flowered beach towel and sit in my health club’s sauna for 15 minutes. Aaaaaaah.
You already have some of the places on my personal bucket list – why don’t you try to get one sponsored and have it be absolutely fantabulous dream quality?!* In that case, let’s say Fiji or Rhonda’s #11 because those are soooooo expensive. Thinking more on our budget (we’re military) Turtle Bay Hawaii, Key West Florida, Sanibel Island Florida (if you want a quiet getaway)…..I say dream BIG!
My family and I are going to Cabo, Mexico with our kids at the end of the month. Cabo has perfect weather and lots to do if you want to be busy. My fist choice would have been Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, but my husband and I are saving that one for a couples only vacation. That would be perfect for you and your husband!
We’re planning a trip to Fiji with the extended family this year.
Just entered for the book giveaway, thanks.
As for tropical, Kev and I LOVE Negril Jamaica and go to Couples Swept Away every December. It’s HEAVEN and obviously we love it so much we don’t go anywhere else ha ha It’s all inclusive and includes snorkeling, food/drink and lots more.
We celebrated our 10th anniversary 4 years ago there with a vow renewal on the beach and it was an amazing experience.
Far fetched, but the beaches of Australia are one to talk about. I can’t even begin to describe how beautiful and amazing the people and environment is. But if you don’t want to go that far, Maui is awesome. You can’t beat the waterfalls, beaches, corals and rainforests. I can tell you about Kauai after the first week of May. 🙂
So many places I want to experience…….after watching Oprahs series on her visit to Austrailia, Im convinced I would LOVE to visit the beaches there .
The Cook Islands in the South Pacific is another place that always has interested me.
I live in the Florida Keys and it is gorgeous here right now — mid 80s and sunny.
Hawaii or Cancun!! I’ve been to both during the “non-peak” times and they are beautiful with lots of places to see. 🙂
Btw- For those not near a Trader Joe’s: Found Pop Chips today in the health food section of GIANT. I could not eat 23 chips..these are filling, but very good!
Let’s have a “Belated Blogiversary” party!!! You bring the garlic bread. (damn that looks good!)
oh…I must put that garlic bread on my shopping list! Yum!
My husband and I just spent 2 weeks in Turkey – we took a day trip to the beaches along the Mediterranean and it was gorgeous. The water was so blue. I live an hour from the Jersey shore and I’m used to brownish water!
I say Turks and Caicos! I can’t really tell you what it is like, but the pictures are amazing! I will be there this May for my sister’s wedding! I went to Hawaii over Christmas break, and its a little overrated. It is a beautiful spot, but VERY, VERY expensive!!
I have no idea where I would want to go… I’m a home body and unless I had thousands AND thousands of $$$$ I wouldn’t want to go anywhere tropical! I know!!! I’m boring 😉
Ever since you posted about yogadownload.com I have been doing stretches every day 😀 😀 … Before I started I couldn’t touch my toes and now I can touch the ground ?! I will totally join you in March. I’m actually feeling confidant enough to try out a class for the first time. WOO HOO
I would love to go some place tropical right now! It’s chilly and cloudy… I’m thinking Costa Rica. That would do just fine. lol I’ve always wanted to try a zip line there… And also parasailing. SO fun.
Jamaica, we went once about 5 years ago. Dan hated it, I loved it. I’m dying to go back
Jealous of your tropical vacation! With all the vacation days I’ve used while my hubby was sick – we’ll most likely have a “stay” cation this year. I’ve never been anywhere tropical – unless Key West counts – that’s where I went on my honeymoon! 😀
Danica!
You must go to Fiji! My husband and I spent our 5th anniversary there almost 6 years ago! The people are so kind and generous and willing to help you however they can a true vacation were we were really able to just chill, and enjoy the beauty.
Ni Sa Bula! (Fijian for a warm “Hello” 🙂
Definitely a Carribbean cruise!! Unpack once and every day wake up somewhere new. I think you would love it!
Any vacation at all sounds great to me after having 2 kids the past 3 years! In fact, we’re going on a trip out your way to Napa and San Francisco in April for our 5 year wedding anniversary!!!
I have been to Australia and New Zealand. Both countries were amazing and would recommend them to anyone. I am going to Egypt in 7 weeks and I can’t wait.
On my “bucket list” is South Africa, Madagascar and Seychelle Islands.
