Snackity Snack Snack….

May 18, 2010 by DanicasDaily 18 Comments

Happy BIGGEST LOSER Day all!  I made sure to get up early to earn my Biggest Loser “BUTT Time”tonight.  I did a quick 30 minute Calorie Blasting Power Hills work.  It gets me every time and I often think it’s harder to walk hills fast than to run.

I really wanted something fresh and clean for breakfast this morning.

IMG_4245

Plus, I’ve been wanting to find a way to use my latest Trader Joe’s find…Organic Raw Honey!

IMG_4246

I LOVE how thick/creamy it is ~ it has a few honey crystals and a strong honey flavor ~ a little goes a long way which I LOVE too!

IMG_4249

1/2 c fresh organic berries

1/2 c frozen mango

1/2 c frozen banana

1/2 c TJ’s FF Greek Yogurt (for protein)

1/2 c FF Milk

1 Tbsp Ground Flax Seed

1 c Arugula because I didn’t have any spinach & wanted a veggie

1 tsp Tj’s Organic Raw Honey to take the bite off the arugula

The RESULT was awesome ~ super thick, creamy and refreshing…You really can see ALL the colors too. (4 pts!)

IMG_4253

I also had a FLAT (attempt #2 wasn’t as successful) Lemon Chia Muffin ~ 3 pts and tasty, but, I definitely need to work it a little more.

IMG_4258

Mid morning I decided to have some BRIE Laughing Cow and apricot jam on Ak Mak Sesame Crackers. (4 pts)

IMG_4260

I was STILL hungry, so I snacked on a RF Cabot cheese and drank a Morning Burst (Hot Lemon Water).  (1 pt)

IMG_4263

At lunch today my co-worker and I headed over to the Napa Farmer’s Market.  It was so FUN to see my FAVORITE cookie lady (Annie The Baker) again and to check out all the goodies.  It was so HARD to not buy really anything….Next week!

I couldn’t resist buying some PUMPKIN BOLANI Bread!  I was so excited that they are back at the Farmer’s Market!!!!  AWESOME stat’s huh ~ 6 servings in a bag, 1 point each.

IMG_4277

It’s sweet, spicy and a little salty….imagine reheating it to be crispy again!

IMG_4279

Lunch was MORE Spicy Chicken Tacos with Extra Spice ~ Sriracha on top!

IMG_4266IMG_4269

I seriously think these get better each day (6 pts for 2),

IMG_4272

Mid afternoon my co-worker busted out the Annie’s Cookies she bought and shared….Ummmm, ya, who says NO to these…..I have a square of each and maybe another of the Sugar Cookie.  I think Doodle Snicker might be my 2nd favorite. Probably about 1 point a bite (4 pts or more total)

IMG_4273

We snacked on a couple of mini snap peas from our garden while dinner cooked ~ home grown is so much better than anything….we worked hard for these LOL.

IMG_4280

Little buckets of cheesy goodness!  I <3 Annie’s Mac & Cheese! ( 5 pts)

IMG_4284

Perfectly steamed crispy swiss chard with garlic salt, black pepper and a little ICBINB Spray.

IMG_4285IMG_4281

I was such a snacker today…..I just had a really hungry day and didn’t get full until after lunch.  I am so glad for my new Weight Watchers week beginning tomorrow….sometimes you just need that feeling of a fresh start and chance to succeed.

SHOW TIME!!!  I LOVED hearing who you all want to be in the final 3 for Biggest Loser.  I am STILL undecided….they all look so good and have totally earned it!  I can totally justify a reason for each person to be or not be in the final 3……

That being said……WHO DO YOU WANT TO WIN IT???? I’ll tell you my choice after tonight’s show 😀

Night all!

    -Those peas look yummy.
-I feel the same way about “new weeks.” Today is the beginning of a new week for me, too, and I’m grateful for and excited about it:-).

That smoothie sounds SO good! I’ve never tried using honey in one, but it’s a good idea.

I remember trying the toffee chocolate chip cookies at the Foodbuzz Festival – amazing!

grrr super frustrated that the 2 people I DINT want in the final 2 are safe! Ugh…I thought Daris did really great in the marathon…however I was bummed to see that some of the past contestants gained weight back. It is real like tho I guess. I still want Koli to win!! I hope he can get enough votes to stay in it!! And I was so excited they had Sam on there…hehe I love him

    Hi Lynn,

They sell them at Whole Foods and Farmer’s Markets here in California – maybe you can find some buy you? They are in the fridge section.

    Hi Tay,

I LOVE the Spinach and the Pumpkin Bolani the BEST…it goes amazing with the Sweet Jalepeno Sauce and Cilantro Pesto! The potato and lentil are not bad, but, to me, they are not as good as my two favorites!

Your morning smoothie (and actually all of your food!) looks amazing! I, too, love smoothies in the morning, and I usually do a combo of strawberries, spinach, and a bit of almond milk. Topped with cereal, it really tides me over for a good long time! Your other eats–especially the tacos–look fabulous too. Enjoy!

What is it about sneaking a veggie into a morning meal that makes one feel so good? I always feel like I’ve got one foot in the door when I sneak a green into breakfast! Your smoothie looks AMAZING!
