Soup-er Salads

October 12, 2012 by DanicasDaily Leave a Comment

Happy Friday all!  This week’s Wordless Wednesday is courtesy of my clown of a Husband.  He “snuck” Oski, his Cal Bear, in Scooter when he came to pick me up from work last week.  When I went to put my bag on the back seat, I started cracking up when I saw the bear with the sweet note from both of them.  He told me Oski wanted to go for a ride too, so he just “hopped” in the car LOL.

I actually meant to do a post for you all last night, however, I think all my sleep deprivation caught up with me.  I fell asleep on the couch at 8 pm and never quite made it to the computer.  So, I swapped my night off tonight for yesterday.

The best part about going to bed that early….getting up super early and not tired to get my run on.  I spent 32 minutes bonding with the treadmill this morning.  My goal was to not take any walking breaks and I did it!

For some reason, I wasn’t super hungry so I decided to wait to eat breakfast until I got in.  Breakfast was swapped when I was asked to have coffee in the café for a morning meeting (that’s totally my kind of meeting!)

Small nonfat, decaf latte with 1 pump pumpkin spice (SF+1 WPA) – 4 points+

About an hour before lunch, my hunger kicked in so I grabbed a pluot and light string cheese to tide me over and to keep me from ordering everything on the menu at lunch Open-mouthed smile (SF) – 1 points+

Since I have been eating my Vegan Coconut Kabocha Squash Soup all week long, I decided I needed to get a big salad at La Bou.

They do not mess around ~ check out how huge this Chinese Chicken Salad is.  I love their salad blend of romaine, iceberg, cabbage x’s 2 and carrots.  The salad is finished with a few peanuts, grilled chicken and a delicious sweet soy vinaigrette.

(SF+3 WPA for the dressing & nuts). 6 points+

After work we headed over to our Nephew’s Homecoming Football Game.  I had planned on bringing a few snacks, but, completely forgot.  I will say I stole a few of The Husband’s nachos, but, only because they had jalapenos on them.

Since we froze at the game (I think fall has officially arrived!), we decided on getting soup and salad at Mary’s Pizza Shack to warm us up.

I had a slice of hot sour dough as soon as they put it on the table. (SF+2 WPA) – 2 points+.

Then dove into a cup of smoky, Split Pea Soup that I topped with hot sauce.  The Husband still wouldn’t eat the green soup, so he ordered the spaghetti with meatballs.

SF+ 1 WPA for the croutons. 4 points+

Super salad #2 of the day!  We shared a large Mary’s House Salad with ranch on the side.  I always trade the salami for the beets…..mainly because salami kinda freaks me out since I do not know what’s in it.

SF + 2 WPA for my 1 Tbsp ranch. 3 points+

STATS (12 am – 9:30 pm)

  • 2,483 calories burned
  • 8,988 steps taken
  • 9 WPA used, 0 WPA remaining (24 daily points+)
  • AL ~ 5 Activity points, 103% – success!

This weekend we might head out to the beach, then, up to another antique faire.  I know I am really behind on all your emails, comments, etc. and hope to get caught up this next week after things slow down a bit.  Thanks for being patient….I will catch up soon!

Night all!
