Happy Friday all!! I am SO EXCITED the weekend is finally here! I think it was a pretty even split on last night’s post on whether you’d pick chips or cookies. I kind of like the idea of having a few chips followed up by a homemade cookie I am a totally salty sweet person.
I also LOVED all your ideas on how to make a better egg salad. Now, I just need more eggs…..
I woke up this morning STARVING and wanting an egg sandwich (ironic!) but I used the rest of the eggs to make The Husband’s sandwich.
The next best option ~ an English muffin topped with 1 Tbsp whipped butter (5 points+)
Plus a little protein with a Morning Star Hot & Spicy Sausage. I actually noticed the spice more having it by itself over on a sandwich (2 points+)
All together with a banana and my stomach finally decided to stop eating itself.
Lunch today was totally not my fault! My co-workers started off the day talking about spicy chicken tacos (BEFORE I had breakfast) and it was all we could think about.
Ummmm, ya, we ended up at TR2 again! I tell you Tacos are seriously the BEST creation in the world, ever?!
I mean, really, can you ever go wrong with Spicy Chicken Tacos that are topped with GUACAMOLE & HOT SAUCE?!
LOVE!!!….it has to be the BEST spicy chicken I’ve ever eaten, really! (10 points+)
OH and, of course, I did have a few chips (12) with like that entire container of salsa ~ we actually all get our own salsa, funny, huh?! (4 points+)
I LOVE my co-workers ~ they always know how to make a blah rainy day better with their entertaining conversations.
When I got home The Husband requested one of his favorite meals. I LOVE him because the things he likes are EASY! Grilled Cheese and Soup since he had to work out in the rain all day.
I “spiced” up mine by adding crushed red pepper flakes!
* 2 Slices Trader Joe’s Fat Free Multi-Grain Bread (3 points+)
* 1 Tbsp Whipped Butter (melted then brushed on) (2 points+)
* 1 oz thinly sliced Low Fat Sharp Cheddar (2 points+)
* Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
0 point+ Homemade Fresh Tomato Basil Soup topped with more crushed red pepper flakes. I kinda might have a “slight” red pepper flake addiction too. It makes everything SPICY when you need it to be.
This totally hit the spot!
Danica’s Daily T-Shirt siting!!! How cute and SKINNY does Josie looks?! She is a great friend and I can’t wait for her to share her success story with you all over at Friends for Weight Loss ~ she will amaze you!
Q’s
What is your favorite way to “spice” things up?
I am all about Sriracha for hot sauces and crushed red pepper flakes for a little heat in soups, salads and pizza. I LOVE Tapatio in eggs and honestly do not really like Tabasco at all despite my love of all hot sauces
Happy WEEEEEEEEKEND everyone!

I’m not so great about adding spices to my dishes, but I totally should! It transforms the taste with little to no effort!
Carolynne says
My favourite spicy sauce is frank’s red hot sauce. It’s not super spicy but it is salty and has some heat. I love it!!
Christin@purplebirdblog says
I’m a huge fan of Sriracha… I put it on all the things I used to slather in ketchup… which is a lot of things! I prefer the green Tobasco to the red, not so much for heat factor but for flavor. And I love making happy faces out of my food 😉
Mel says
I love red pepper flakes and sirracha! I add red pepper to everything, lol!
Dan prefers tabasco. I don’t really care for tabasco that much though, I think it’s the vinegar-ish taste.
Have a great weekend!

now i’m sufficiently starved as i haven’t had breakfast yet! how about cookies made with chips? that’s something i could get behind 😉 and i actually like putting hummus in my egg salad, but i haven’t made it in ages and need to remedy that asap! have a great weekend 🙂

I like srirachi the best, but use jalepenos a lot too especially sandwiches, and red pepper flakes. I also have some habanero jelly that is great on anwiches or bean enchiladas etc. Thanks for the ideas of pepper. Flakes in grilled cheese surprised I have never tried that!
Cindy says
Wow, that grilled cheese looks yummy. I might have to try that this weekend. I wanted to give a big thank you to you for your blog. You really have shown me that it is possible to eat real food (read: not just carrots and grilled chicken) and still succeed on ww. I am loving ww so far and am down 16 pounds. But when I started to beat myself up over ordering a tostada yesterday, I actually thought of your posts on mexican restaurants and realized it is not that bad, count the points and it will be fine.

a) im def a sweets person. chips are not tempting to me at all.
b) do you watch top chef bc the winning meal this week was a tomato soup and grilled cheese sammie (made with an iron in target)

Oh man, you had me at the tacos but then I saw that gooey grilled cheese! SWOOOOOON!
I like Tabasco and other hot sauces like Dave’s Gourmet or Frank’s, I also love crushed red pepper and jalapeno peppers.

ME TOO. I eat siracha on EVERYTHING…so good

mmm that grilled cheese looks good!
favorite way to spice up my eggs, vegetables (ESPECIALLY carrots!), or wraps:
trader joe’s fat free spicy black bean dip!
just enough spice for me, and only 35 cal per 2tbsp!
very basic, real ingredients + high protein and low sodium..
doesn’t get much better than that!

LOVE the happy face on the breakfast plate!!! How could anyone have a bad day after a giant banana smiles starts it off!? We’re BIG siracha fans here. A bottle doesn’t last long in our house. Have a great weekend Danica!!!

I just had grilled cheese and tomato soup for dinner too–such a classic combo that never fails to fill me up!

Loved the smiley face breakfast also ,too cute! The spicy chicken tacos look soooooooooooooo good!
Spice is almost always red pepper flakes but sometimes jalapenos.
Mo says
That soup looks so good, that I’m planning to pull together some pantry staples with some celery, onion and garlic and try to pull off a quick tomato basil soup without fresh tomatoes for tonight’s dinner.
How do you make your grilled cheese? I’ve been making my on the George Foreman and I don’t have to use any butter. Still delicious.
Mo~

Hi Mo,
I actually own a panini press and have yet to use it – sad, huh?! I simply used whipped butter with bread, cheese and crushed red pepper flakes. It was delicious!
