Happy Sunday all!!! I have to say hearing all the ways you LOVE to make a sandwich is totally making me hungry. I definitely think the most interesting thing to have on your sandwich that I cannot believe I have not tried is HOT SAUCE. I LOVE all things spicy so I am totally doing that. Thanks for the idea Lisa G.!
This morning we were up bright and early on the road again. We took The Husband’s Mom to one of her favorite Antique Fair’s and to lunch to celebrate Valentine’s Day with her.
Since we left so early, I didn’t get to go to my Weight Watcher meeting but unofficially lost 1 lb on our home scale…a great start for next week’s weigh in!
Road trips ALWAYS = Starbuck’s. Venti Iced Dirty Latte (4 points+)
The Husband was awesome and drove so I could read my latest Weight Watcher’s magazine. Breakfast was my favorite new bar, WW Cinnamon Crumb Supreme (3 points+) and a banana.
I totally WISH we had a Piggly-Wiggly Grocery Store out here because seriously I would go just so I could say I am running to the Piggly-Wiggly….how fun is that name?! lol…I know I am a dork, but, it’s true!
I was pretty excited when she picked Jack’s Urban Eats for lunch….by far, my favorite salad place in the world.
My greens came up to 8 points+ ~ I totally NEED to re-create this……:
* Mixed Greens
* Pickled Red Onions
* 1 Tbsp Cranberries
* 1 Tbsp Honey Walnuts
* 1 Tbsp Kidney-Garbanzo Beans
* Cherry Tomatoes
* GRAPES!
* 2 Tbsp Homemade Balsamic Vinaigrette
I skipped adding my usual grilled chicken because I knew I’d be having a few of The Husband’s Urban Fries. I have to have a couple while they are hot and give him the plate because they are my crack ~ I could eat them all! These fries are PHENOMENAL ~ I think it’s the spicy chili oil they use. (3 points+)
Last weekend The Husband told me that Valentine’s Day is about being with more than just the one person you LOVE…..it’s about being with EVERYONE you LOVE.
Mikuni’s is by one of the BEST SUSHI places. I do not get to go often anymore because it is located in Sacramento where I used to leave (BEFORE The Husband came along) He knows it is my FAVORITE place and set up to have my entire family meet us there….LOVE HIM!
Yup, he totally wore my Danica’s Daily Tee today too 😀
I started off with Miso Soup and HOT Green tea.(2 points+)
The Husband and my Dad (the non-sushi eaters) shared gyoza. I had one and actually got them both to try our ahi! (1 point+)
My FAVORITE appetizer came out next. Sear BBQ Ahi Tuna in a SPICY SRIRACHA DIPPING SAUCE….Picture SRIRACHA WITH PEANUT BUTTER = LOVE!!!! I had one piece and shared with everyone else. (2 points+)
My Mom and I shared 2 HUGE rolls. This was my mom’s first time ever splitting sushi with me so I went easy on the raw stuff. She LOVED it and my Dad even braved a piece too – so proud of them!
The 1st roll is called TRAINWRECK ~ Shrimp Tempura, spicy AVOCADO Blend, crab mix, topped with chopped unagi, sea steak, sesame seeds, onion, spicy zig zag sauce and unagi sauce. I LOVE how the spice creeps up on you AFTER you eat it. I had 3 pieces of this deliciousness! (6 points+)
Next up is the SPICY PETER 2 roll which we ALWAYS get. “ DF shrimp, crab salad, spicy tuna, AVOCADO, eel, seared tuna, 2 spicy dream sauces, masago & onion. I had 4 pieces of this AWESOME roll. (6 points+)
After dinner we all went to see JUST GO WITH IT! OMG…This movie is SO hilarious, we were all laughing so hard we cried through the movie. If you are debating seeing it, go, you won’t be disappointed.

Q’S:
What is on your menu this week? Are you trying any “fancy” recipes for Valentine’s day?
I am going to attempt to make a “special” dinner for The Husband since he went all out tonight….He is a total steak & potatoes person so I have a feeling the steak recipe will win his vote.
Night all!

I love adam sandler, but everyone I know can’t stand him so it looks like I’m gonna have to wait until netflix gets a hold of it!
I thought “trainwreck” might be lindsay lohan’s favorite, lol!

That sushi looks amazing! We just saw that movie this weekend. It was cute! I thought it was so random that Heidi Montage and DMB were in it. 🙂 LOL
Marisa @ Loser for Life says
I need to have sushi with YOU!! None of my family members are adventurous enough to try it!
Sounds like you had a fun weekend, Danica! Happy Valentine’s Day 🙂
Deanna says
Aww that was so cute of your hub to wear a Danica’s Daily tshirt!
Stacie M says
That sushi looks so yummy! Making me crave that for lunch.
Tonight we are going to try the Meditteranean Lamb Chops from the new Just 5 WW cookbook.
One thing you need to try with those cinnamon bars… Take an apple and chop into thin slices. Microwave for about 30 seconds until it begins to get soft. Crumble the Cinnamon bar on top of the apple and microwave again for another 30 seconds.
It tastes so much like apple pie and still only 3P+ since the apple is free!
Lauryn says

Your menu this week looks awesome, do you figure out all the pts yourself as you make it? Hubby is on board with me now counting points so I’d love to try out some of these dishes with him too.
Love the sushi, but he hates fish so we never go out to eat it!
Christin@purplebirdblog says
Man, all that sushi looks amazing!! And Sriracha/PB???!!! I neeeed somma that!
Emily says
I totally agree with your husband! Valentine’s Day is for EVERYONE you love, not just romantics! Hope you have a wonderful day and thanks for the sunny wishes–looks like they are working b/c it is already 52 degrees in Utah! xoxo
DanicasDaily says
Hi Denise,
Yes, I do figure out the points+ of most dishes I make before I choose to make them. I don’t like finding out AFTER that it was a bazillion points+ and not even worth it.
The Husband will only get like Teriyaki Beef or Chicken when I get sushi so it was a nice treat having someone to share more than one roll with.

I love that your hubby wore the shirt, too! Its Red and Romantic – and he cooks, does work around the house, takes his mom out to eat – he’s a keeper, that’s for sure!
How did your parents like the sushi? Just curious, as sometimes the younger generation goes for things the older generation doesn’t. Hope everyone had a great time!
Your menu for the week sounds yummy…can’t wait to see your pictures and to try some of the recipes. My week coming up will be:
Oven Fried Chicken with WW Baby Red Potato Salad
Pepper Steak with Onions, brown rice
Spinach Lasagne Rolls w/ Garden salad
Hungry Girl’s Sweet n’ Sticky Sesame Chicken, brown rice, broccoli
Pork Tenderloin, baked sweet potatoes, snow peas
Grilled Tilapia, roasted potato wedges, coleslaw
But like you, its all subject to change!
One last thing – I loved Stacie’s idea for using the WW bar with apple slices- sounds like a really great treat!
Mary (What's Cookin' with Mary) says

I also haven’t done my meal plan for this week either… I am behind ?! Just making my shopping list now. YIKES. I think this week there will be no plan ! ;P Live on a the wild side a little.. HAHA!
Lisa G. says
We just had our “fancy” Valentine’s Day dinner which consisted of:
Two heart shaped pizza’s from Papa Murphy’s pizza baked at home.
One heart shaped chocolate chip cookie cake made/baked at home.
The kids loved it and cleanup was easy and fast. <3
