Today was such a fun day. Each year our company hosts a Major League Baseball Game Day where we all head out to watch the San Francisco Giants play. I LOVE it when companies build in play days for work days ~ it seriously makes working “fun”.
Can you believe I actually forgot to eat breakfast as we headed out of the house? I rarely forget food, ok, maybe, I never forget to eat 🙂 LOL. So, instead of getting an iced latte when we stopped at Starbuck’s, I had their Vivanno Strawberry Banana Smoothie made with nonfat milk. It was actually pretty tasty and kept me full all morning. It’s a nice alternative if you need something quick and healthy on the go. The normal version uses low-fat milk so I lightened it up a little by using non-fat milk.
I enjoyed our bus trip down ~ making calls regarding our upcoming vacation and reading my book a bit. The game is held at the AT&T Stadium…..
We had our lunch catered outside on the patio at the club level. It was fun being a VIP in the Club Level. I sampled a little of everything (except the hot dogs – I made one up for The Husband and gave it to him). I had a small scoop of potato salad and some green salad with ranch on the side (ranch was the only dressing).
Plus a piece of BBQ chicken. It was eh, ok ~ I removed the skin and it sorta tasted like ketchup chicken.
I made sure to save room for the HOMEMADE cookies. I enjoyed a moist, chewy snickerdoodle cookie and had some of The Husband’s chocolate dipped short bread cookie (I forgot to snap a picture of that one).
In the true baseball spirit, they also gave us peanuts & cracker jacks to take for the road! I had a few peanuts and shared a bag of Cracker Jacks with The Husband mid-game.
Our seats were pretty good ~ in prime territory for having a fowl ball hit to you. I am so glad none came our way because I would’ve been totally ducking underneath the benches 🙂 We did get fried sitting in the sun even with sunscreen on.
I couldn’t resist getting a snow cone when I saw the guy walking up and down the stairs. They must burn so many calories doing that all day long. The snow cone was amazingly good but I am sure it’s because it costs so much and it was blazing hot out!
The game was really good and the Giants were leading all the way up until the 9th inning when it tied up. The game went into extra innings but in the end the Giants won 4-2 with a two-run home run. On the way back, I snacked on this nectarine before reading a little and taking a nap. It was so nice to not have to deal with traffic and to just be able to relax on the bus. Our bus driver was pretty cool – he even put on a movie for us to watch (Talladega Knights) – funny!
We were both pretty wiped out when we got home so dinner was fast and a combination of everything I was originally planning to pack us for lunch today. The Husband helped make dinner by adding all the crunch. Crunch #1 BBQ Popchips – YUM my favorite flavor of all!
Crunch #2 veggies with some ranch.
I made up some wraps for us while he decorated our plates.
* Sun Dried Tomato Tortilla
* 1 Laughing Cow Wedge
* Sprinkle of freshly ground pepper
* 2 thin, 1 oz slices of Tillamook PepperJack Cheese
* 1/2 oz each of 99% ff lean honey roasted turkey & brown sugar ham
* Organic Romaine
All wrapped up and ready to go – amazing! I LOVE these tortillas I got at the farmer’s market – they have so much flavor. I am definitely making this wrap again – maybe for lunch tomorrow. I might have to add some veggies to the inside but it was good as is.
All together it was the perfect post baseball game dinner. We make such a good team putting it all together and I LOVE how he knew to make my plate 1/2 veggies.
Now for the super exciting announcement ~ although if you were following my tweets today then you already know. We decided on and booked our Anniversary Vacation today!!! Yup, I was quite the multi-tasker at the game and on the bus LOL.
In November we are going on a 9 DAY SOUTHERN CARRIBBEAN CRUISE! We leave out of Miami and head to Samana, Tortola (this is the island Pirates of the Caribbean was filmed on), Antigua, Barbados, and St. Kitts. We couldn’t decide on one location so we figured a cruise would be better to see a bunch of places. Plus we are always trying to accumulate as many stamps on our passports as we can. (ok, well, I am starting from scratch again LOL).
More details and thoughts to come, but, The Husband and I both made a pact today to get in our best shape for our cruise. I know I am going to be creating a personal challenge to whip myself into shape before hand. I’d LOVE you all to join in and share any ideas you have for the challenge.
We will have an extra night in Miami when we return from the cruise so I may try to set up a blogger lunch or dinner meet up (my first one yet!). Let me know if you would be interested by emailing me at danicasdaily@gmail.com.
I am completely wiped out and totally hot – thanks sunburn! Nite all!
