The Wild Goat

December 30, 2012 by DanicasDaily 8 Comments

Happy Weekend all!  This morning kicked off the official “end” of my Christmas Vacation.  No more boycotting the scale or my Weight Watcher’s meetings.  It was great to see everyone at my meeting again and I was amazed at how much I missed everyone.  I really did want to tell my leader that I love her for bringing my motivation to get my bootie off the couch back, but, I thought she my think that was a little stalkerish of me LOL.

Even though I mentally thought and felt like I gained a million pounds not really tracking, working out or eating like I knew I should, I managed to maintain this week and only went up 1.8 lbs. for the month of December.  For this holiday season ~ that is a success and something I can turn around quickly.

I am taking baby steps to get back in my groove with 3 goals this week:

  • Track every single bite even if it’s not perfect – that’s ok – what matters it the tracking
  • Workout a minimum of 3 times for 10 minutes (setting the goal low!)
  • Get back to drinking my water

I baked these mini Brown Sugar Banana Nut Muffins and Mini Coconut Pound Cake Muffins to share with everyone at the meeting.  The banana nut muffins are 2 for 3 points+ and the coconut pound cake muffins are 2 points+ each.

Since the sun was shining and the weather was beautiful, we decided to take a road trip through Petaluma and Sebastopol to shop and to have lunch.  On our way, I snacked on a banana with some coffee before we ended up at the Wild Goat Bistro for lunch.

The one thing I think is incredibly fun about this place is the ambiance and that they serve up everything on these mini unmatched plates.

IMG_0213

I started with a cup of the soup of the day ~ Vegan Butternut Squash that had sweet hints of apple and cinnamon in it. (SF) – 2 points+

IMG_0222

The Husband picked the Chicken Cobb Salad as his starter with Balsamic on the side.

IMG_0224

I totally stole some greens and loved them again!  I think it has something to do with the BACON and that tasty homemade honey balsamic. (SF+1 WPA) – 2 points+

IMG_0228

He picked the Holy Cow Sliders topped with cheddar and pepperoncini’s for his dish.  I told him I’d gladly pay him Tuesday for a Hamburger today Open-mouthed smile (SF + 3 WPA) – 3 points+

IMG_0239

It was every bit as good as it looks ~ juicy, salty, cheese, spicy and the bread had a great crunch.

IMG_0241

I ordered the Mediterranean Pizza ~ Pesto, Fresh Artichokes, Mushrooms, “Beer” Olives (aka Kalamata olives), Tomatoes, Red Onion and Mozzarella.

IMG_0243

I really enjoyed the thin crust, fresh veggies and you could totally taste the fresh basil & garlic in the pesto with the cheese.  The only thing I think would make this amazing is adding tomato sauce or sun dried tomatoes for some tang (SF+5 WPA) – 5 points+

IMG_0247

Dinner was the last of the Navy Bean and Ham Soup.  I did end up boiling extra beans to add to it to make it creamier and beanier (yup, that’s totally a word). (SF) – 5 points+

Active Link Stats:

  • 4 Activity Points, 91% – I am going to earn my butt time tonight by working out until I reach 100% before we watch a movie!
  • 14 WPA used, 35 WPA remaining – 22 daily points+

QUESTION OF THE DAY:

How will you be ringing in the New Year tomorrow?

We have plans of playing games, watching movies and cooking up a delicious chicken enchilada casserole with chips, salsa & guacamole for everyone.

Night all!

I have to work early the next morning, so we are just going to stay home, cook something good, and relax. I go out every year, so it will be nice to stay in for a change. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

I got back on the wagon also yesterday, but didn’t fare quite as well as you did 🙁 I was up 4.4 lbs, and I also started to track every morsel, and liquid (darn that wine!!) I still can’t quite figure out how you get AP for 91% and I get 0 for 135% but I am determined next year lol. Happy New Year Danica to you and your hub! I know 2013 will have us closer to our goal! Thanks for a great year of recipes, motivation, and support!!

    Hi
Found you by chance when searching for WW class details. Weight has piled back on in the last three months, work is tough and last night we agreed our marriage is over.
I have got up to face a difficult day with the resolve to get some discipline and routine in my life to prevent things spiralling out of control – food and exercise will be key.
Thank you for your blog re resolutions for 2013 as I found it inspirational
