Happy Not Biggest Loser Day :( So I just have to say, I LOVE the Olympics and all, but, why does that mean that The Biggest Loser cannot be aired too? I mean other shows make their presence….Sigh! The worst part is they totally left us in LIMBO last week with To Be Continued….they shouldn’t do that at all (because well who wants to wait) but especially when you have to wait THREE WEEKS!!!
Moving on…..Last night my stomach was pretty funky and when I woke up it still wasn’t feel too great. I opted for a Grande Decaf FF Latte with a ZERO point caramel drizzle (2.5 pts) with a 6 pt toasted asiago bagel.
Before I headed out for my AWESOME 4 mile lunchtime run, I had half of this Tropical Fruit Lara Bar I’ve been carrying around for all too long. OMG, why haven’t I tried this flavor sooner ~ it was AWESOME! It’s tart orange citrus with hints of coconut….Delish and 2 pts for half.
I spent all weekend playing with The Husband which meant I did not go to the grocery store. To help my stomach feel better, I had a can of Progresso Light Chicken Dumpling Soup.
1 point for 1/2 the can and 3 points for the entire can – not bad.
The ingredient list is pretty long, however, at least I can recognize everything.
I sprinkled my soup with Sriracha hot sauce and dove in. I LOVED all the chunks, but, I do wish the vegetables were crispier….guess that probably doesn’t happen too often with canned soup. I think I am just a fresh soup snob 😉
I had a 1 pt TJ’s light string cheese, a 1 pt applesauce and a big jug of Fizzy Water. Amazingly this fantastic old persons lunch did the job at FINALLY making my tummy feel better 🙂
I spent the afternoon listening to a bunch of conference calls….Fun! Not really, but, at least there is a great MUTE feature so I could snack on 3 points of Pistachios.
The Husband put in a special request to have Steak Sandwiches for dinner tonight. I made up half a sandwich using grilled Sirloin topped with Whiskey Pepper Steak Sauce I picked up at the Home & Garden Show. Topped with red onion, tomato and placed on toasted sour dough for 5 pts.
I also grilled up the first corn of the season from Trader Joe’s (1 pt). This along with our amazing spring weather totally makes me want Farmers Market Season to start up again.
I had planned out a Spicy Peanut Slaw but realized AFTER I got home I didn’t exactly have Trader Joe’s Low-Fat Spicy Peanut Sauce. So, I made a sweet slaw using Broccoli Slaw with 1 Tbsp TJ’s LF Cranberry Walnut Gorgonzola Dressing plus sesame seeds. It was eh, ok for 1 point, but, totally not the spicy Asian slaw I was craving.
SUPER COOL NEWS COMING IN THE AM ~ MY 1st OPEN SKY OLYMPIC PROMOTION FOR YOU ALL!!! Be sure to check back to get your discount ~ I can’t wait to share it 🙂
I am completely exhausted tonight and I know I owe you all a recipe plus more coming up later this week….TO BE CONTINUED 😀
Night all!
I totally feel your pain with the show. I was bummed too last night when I saw it wouldn’t be coming back until March!
Uh I know! I was SOOOO mad that it wasnt comming back on! That totally sucks!! Boo on that. I watched American Idol and 19 kids n counting instead haha. Well your steak sandwich looked amazing, and how exactly did you do the corn? It looks sooo good!!! I saw some broccli slaw last night at the store and almost got it but I wasnt sure what to put with it. O well! Have a great hump day!

Oooo I’m very excited that corn is coming back!
HI Alison,
That is a crazy process you have to go through to get your measurement 🙂
The one in my shop is only in grey, but, I think that is better than the black one. The one I have is black/silver and I am constantly wiping finger prints off due to my OCD ways 🙂

Hi Lauryn,
Ya, I am not sure American Idol or 19 kids would work for me – I NEED my BL fix…maybe because I pretty much only watch two shows all week – The Bachleor and TBL *sigh*
The corn is so easy….I rinse it off in water and place it in foil. Then, add a little sea salt and black pepper. Throw it on the grill for 10 minutes and it steams perfectly. I imagine you could do the same in the oven at say 400 degrees.
For the Broccoli Slaw ~ buy the Trader Joe’s Low-Fat Spicy Peanut Dressing in the fridge section – add 1 Tbsp for 1 point and it’s AWESOME!
