Hi all! How was your weekend? We spent our weekend celebrating The Husband’s birthday week. Just a warning…this post contains a whole lot of delicious food lol. My Weight Watchers meeting was cancelled so we headed over to another location to weigh in. I chalked up a 2.4 lb loss and picked up my super cute summer charm.
Before heading your the Farmer’s Market, we stopped for breakfast at Huckleberry’s. I had my usual 2 eggs over medium with 2 pieces bacon, 1 slice dry sourdough toast and I kept 2 bites of my hash browns before handing them over to The Husband. (9 sp)
Every year our town hosts the Tomato festival. We walked through the festival where I managed to avoid buying and eating anything tomato.
The reason he agreed to go to the festival is because it’s right by Joe’s Buffet (the a local mom & pop sandwich shop where they roast all their meats).
He got the Joe’s Special…pastrami & roast beef. I love his hands on his hips just waiting for me to take the picture already 😀
I had half a turkey & pepper jack sandwich with their side salad. (9 sp)
Dinner was pretty simple but super tasty. This turned into….
This Turkey & Veggie spaghetti sauce using Trader Joe’s Arrabiata sauce.
Which then was topped with a package of cooked 5 Cheese Tortellini.
All tossed together and finished with a little fresh basil and parmesan.
1 heaping cup for 10 Smartpoints.
We were up early this morning to head out of town for another coin show. Before hitting the road, I had 1/2 this Subway Ham, Egg & Cheese Flat bread (6 sp) and a grande iced Nonfat Latte with caramel on top (3 sp).
After the show we headed to Jack’s Urban Eats. I got the Chinese Chicken Salad (6 sp) and stole a few too many of his Urban Fries for 7 sp.
We did a little shopping before heading out to the local casino for some gambling fun. He won and I donated do they can build more games to play lol.
His grand finale birthday dinner was at Buckhorn Steak House. We usually go for steak and seafood but today, we went for the BBQ.
They have the absolute best sourdough bread on the planet. It comes to your table straight from the oven and is often too hot to touch. I could eat just this for my meal……
But, I refrain savoring a slice or two.
I started with a side salad with ranch on the side. (4 sp)
Then, I usually order 2 meats so I can share with The Husband. My sides were this fire roasted artichoke and seasonal veggies.
I had 1 pork ribs, 3 bites of chicken & 1/2 the veggies. (8 sp)
I totally stole 2 bites of his bacon Mac & cheese and bbq beans.I actually loved the beans most.
The waiter did awesome at surprising him with dessert sans singing. I did have 2 bites but it was actually too rich for me.
I definitely dipped into my weeklies today with my tastes but it was so worth it to celebrate him. I have a few food challenges at work this week with 2 lunches out and a potluck do I’ve planned our healthy dinners this week to balance it out.
HERE IS WHAT IS ON THE MENU THIS WEEK:
- Black Eyed Pea Salad
- Chicken Fajita Salads
- BBQ beans, Sausage & Greens
- Teriyaki Meatballs, Rice, Kale
- BFD or leftovers
What is on your menu this week?
Night all!
Looks like a great birthday weekend! Mine is this coming weekend with my birthday on Friday! Can’t wait…planning on light meals/salads all week and my points change over on Friday so I’ll be good! Probably not a blue dit but that’s ok 🙂
WOW! Those food photo’s were fabulous! Everything looked so yummy; I’ll have a bite of each! 🙂
Congrats on your 2.4 loss ! On the scale this morning, I was down exactly 1 pound from last week; so I was happy too! That BarBQ place would be at the top of my list- I can almost smell the bread! Going to try the turkey tortillini also-can’t decide on which food would be my favorite? They all looked to good! You could be a wealthy food photographer…..maybe in your next life?
For someone new to your blog, what is BFD?
