My Weigh in & Weekly Menu

December 26, 2010 by DanicasDaily 20 Comments

Happy Sunday all!  My day started off with getting back on track with my Weight Watcher Meeting.  I wasn’t sure what to expect for my weigh in but I was pretty sure I had earned a gain.  I wasn’t perfect, I didn’t always make the best choices and I enjoyed myself this week 100%. I was up 2.0 lbs, but, I am completely OK with it.

For me, this holiday round has been a HUGE success ~ I have lost every week from Thanksgiving until now so to have ONLY one gain in a month during Thanksgiving and Christmas, I’ll take it along with every delicious “extra” bite I had this week Smile.

My goal for next week is to start the New Year off with a loss!  I am back on track, writing every single thing down, getting my REAR MOVING already and I told The Husband he has til Tuesday (Trash Day to eat everything or it’s going in the trash Open-mouthed smile….

Breakfast started off with a BIG ZERO Point+ Fruit Salad. I <3 FREE FRUIT!

0 Point Fruit Salad

Along with a Venti Iced Dirty Latte (4 points+).

Iced Latte

We decided to meet up with some friends at AppleBee’s today to use one of our gift cards and head out to the movies.

The Husband pretty much ALWAYS picks wings for his appetizer where ever we go and I almost ALWAYS have one or two….

I had 2 today and ate all his celery to balance it out Winking smile (4 pts+).  I used the points+ values that WW online has for KFC as I figured it is comparable.

Boneless Buffalo Wings

I really wanted to order one of their Weight Watchers entrees, but, they didn’t have any on their 3 things for $20 special.  So, I made my own entrée up out of their choices.

Florentine Ravioli’s with Chicken, tomatoes & spinach and NO SAUCE.  It was actually pretty tasty, but, super small (as in 7 DRY ravioli’s).  (7 points+). I actually felt pretty proud leaving their knowing I made a good choice and knew pretty much what was in or not in my meal.

Applebee's Ravioli's Florentine

We saw The Tourist ~ it was pretty good and I have to say I LOVED Johnny Depp in it – he actually bordered kinda cute Winking smile  I do think that there should’ve been more “action” though.

After shopping away the afternoon we came home and THE HUSBAND “cooked” dinner.

Leftover Lasagna Belmont (12 points+).

Weight Watchers Lasagna

Garlic Bread (4 points+)

Butter Garlic Bread

Side salad with 1 Tbsp Newman’s Light Lime Vinaigrette (1 point+)

Newman's Light Lime

I LOVE it on days when I don’t cook!  One day down, six more to go!

HERE IS THE MENU FOR THIS WEEK:

* CEiMB: White Turkey Chili

* Chicken Tetrazzini Casserole from the latest Clean Eating Magazine

* Cashew Coconut Curry Crunchy Chicken Finger Salad

* Fiesta Enchilada Skillet (takes less than 15 minutes to make & is VEGETARIAN!)

* BBQ Tri Tip, Sweet Potato or Butternut Squash Fries, Corn & Grilled Veggies

We may be going out to eat with my family somewhere in here too!  That’s the plan, so there are not guarantees that I’ll ever stick to it since we are OFF WORK all week Open-mouthed smile

Q’s

1.  What’s on your menu this week?  Are you trying any new recipes?

I have 3 new recipes (Chili, Chicken Salad & Chicken Tetrazzini) and 2 standby’s

Night all!

So glad your meeting at WW went well after the holidays. people seem to freak out so I’m glad and impressed you kept your cool.
I’m already drooling about this cashew curry chicken (thats a lot of “c’s”!). Glad you enjoyed the holidays!

You have such a great mindset about this and I have to say, I am so proud. The one thing I usually don’t agree with with WW is that they measure your loss every single week and people get so discouraged if they are up even an ounce. It’s heartbreaking to think that they don’t hold themselves to normal standards. That they aren’t entitled to gain a little here and there. Everyone does this. It’s so normal and you are still doing such an INCREDIBLE job on this journey. That is what matters!!!

I also had a gain. Only 1 lb. and it has been my first gain since I started WW in October. I enjoyed every delicious ounce of that pound, but it is time to get back on the horse and get back OP today. Great job in keeping things in moderation. We’ll take off this pound or two .. no problem!

Good for you! Honestly, I’ve been watching what you’re eating each day and I was a little afraid for you. I don’t think I could’ve eaten all the things you did and gained so little. But you balanced everything out, so all’s well and I know you’ll lose that pesky holiday pound in the next couple of weeks. Love the Tuesday/Trash Day idea. I just gave a beautiful box of chocolate covered strawberries away because I couldn’t eat just one. .. or two… or…
    Happy New Year!

Your fruit salad looks great! I go to Starbucks every Saturday with my friend, what’s a good option for not a ton of points? Thanks…

I also had a little gain this week. I expected it and like you, I am fine with it. I mean we HAD to enjoy our holiday season, right?! 🙂 I am also dying to know, what all is in an Iced Dirty Latte? I have noticed that it is one of your favourite drinks and I am intrigued…

Oh, I feel you. I was up 2 but not due to holiday goodies. Good times. I’m also battling using the weeklies or not. I only used 5-7 during the few couple weeks, used a few more the following week & last week used half. Thus the gain that could be attributed to that, period bloat or I’m pregnant. (either of the latter is still TBD.) It’s frustrating nonetheless though!

    Hang in there!

    HI Carolynne,

I LOVE Iced Dirty Lattes – they taste just like chocolate milk. Basically it’s just a regular latte, hot or cold, (I get mine decaf with fat free milk) with 1 pump of Mocha Syrup added to it. You get all the chocolate flavor with a 1 points+ pump and not all the calories/points+ of a regular mocha.

Do tell if you try it, I am sure you will LOVE it too 🙂

    HI Kelly,

It really depends on what you like. Some people will substitute the sugar free syrups to add sweetness without tons of points. I do not do sugar free so I do not use this option, but, it’s there with all their “skinny” drinks. Another way to save is to ask for only the amount of pumps of syrups that you really need. I do this with my dirty latte. I add one pump of mocha to get all the chocolate flavor and sweetness of a mocha without all the points. This works for any syrup as well as chai tea lattes too. 1-2 pumps is usually plenty.

Here are some of my favorite low point options to get at Starbuck’s.

    * All coffees, unsweetened teas and Cafe Americanos – hot or cold are 0 points+
    * Cafe Misto and Cappucino’s range from 1-2 points+ depending on the size
    * My TWO favorite drinks are hot lattes (fat free) with caramel sauce drizzled on top or with 1 pump of mocha. Tall hot = 2 pts+, grande hot = 3 pts+, grande iced = 2-3 pts+ and venti iced = 3-4 pts+
    * Light Frappucino’s are another option and are fairly low in points with coffee flavor being the lowest.
    * You could try a Vivano smoothie but it’s just not coffee to me 🙂

Last but not least, you can go to Starbucks.com and look up the nutritional information for your favorite drink and test out how to lighten it up. For example, use fat free milk and skip the whip.

Good luck and do tell what you decide on ~ I am always looking for more reasons to go to Starbuck’s 🙂

Nope, you haven’t missed it. It’s still in my brain, but, I should be making it by the end of the week 🙂
