What is one food that you would NEVER give up?

February 26, 2011 by DanicasDaily 26 Comments

I guess I missed saying Happy Friday since I fell asleep on the couch last night at like 9 pm.  I am not complaining because I think I have been sleep deprived all week and I slept for 10 hours without waking up at all last night….that is totally rare for me.

So, now I am playing a little catch-up this morning with you all while The Husband sleeps.

I actually brought TWO options for breakfast yesterday ~ a warm and a cold low point options. Since it was FREEZING yesterday, I went with warm everything.

The last 2 of my Weight Watcher Sausage, Egg and Cheese Wraps with SRIRACHA! I totally ate ALL that sriracha in case you are wondering Open-mouthed smile (6 points+)

Weight Watchers Frozen Meals Review

I really do LOVE these little wraps, especially when the cheese and sausage oooze out….they are awesome with a “little” hot sauce and kept me full for 5 hours.

What are the best Weight Watcher Frozen Meals

I rounded it out with a big “tropical” fruit salad ~ banana, pineapple and strawberries.  I think adding the fruit really helps my breakfast “stick”.

pineapple and banana

Oh, and since it was Friday ~ A Grande Hot Dirty Latte (4 points+).

starbuck's skinny latte ideas

I went to lunch with my friend to celebrate finishing our taxes!  Ok, well, we didn’t really need a reason to have a TR2 (Taqueria Rosita #2) Mexican Fiesta, but, it sounded good.

I was not a good WW today and didn’t count out my 12 chips like I usually do.  I had probably double that since I ate half the bowl and my own bowl of salsa (7 points+).

Taqueria Rosita

The usual ~ 2 Spicy “Mexican Style” Chicken Tacos ~ they are served up with this amazing melt in your mouth spicy, shredded chicken, hot sauce, GUACAMOLE, cilantro, onions and a sprinkle of cojita cheese (10 points+).   This is the place that gave me their “secret recipe” so I can make this spicy shredded chicken at home.

how to make spicy chicken tacos

I wasn’t hungry ALL afternoon or evening and in fact I didn’t really feel too good.  I totally blame the mass amounts of chips I had LOL.

I cooked The Husband “steak and eggs” but he said I NEEDED to eat something too.  So, he cooked Annie’s Shells and Cheese for us

I had half the box (1 1/4 servings) for 9 points+ ~ totally worth it for these little “buckets” of cheese.

Annie's Mac n Cheese

Honestly not one of my better days, but, I counted it all and am moving on.  Today is a new day and I plan on making it a HUGE success to finish out my week.

I just feel like I am so ready for a new Weight Watcher week…..I want a do-over Open-mouthed smile

Q’s

What is one single food that you would NEVER give up?

Can I choose ALL food?!  If I have to pick, it would be CHEESE.  But, I really wanted to say spicy chicken tacos.  I honestly think I could eat that, ok, well, Mexican Food EVERY day!

I will be back tonight with another EASY RECIPE and a COOL GIVEAWAY!

Have an awesome Saturday all!

We all want WW do over weeks. Just eat and move on. If you worry about every meal.. you spend your whole life worrying. And life is just too fun for that. Love your blog..read it everyday. You make me hungry with your recipes.

    Enjoy the day:)

Sorry you weren’t feeling well, D 🙁 This is a new week! I’m ready for it, too! My eating is fine, but if I can just get my exercise mojo back, I’ll be raring to go!

I’m with you on the cheese! Can’t ever live without it!

Mmmmmm, lunch looks yummy. I am having trouble with icecream, but I use my points for a treat at the end of the week (only if the scale is good to me). My first week on the new WW program was excellent for me, tracked everything & DID NOT go over my points and I stayed the same on the scale….very frustrating. Then I was on Vacation, didn’t do so well with the tracking or points, and I lost 3 pounds…go figure. I am loving the new program. Thanks for all your support and sharing.

I would never give up apples. Or bread. I know those are two things, but they are my staples!

Anything sweet. I have such a huge sweet tooth. But if it’s one specific thing, I guess I’d say chocolate. I don’t think I could survive without it. Followed closely behind it would be hot sauce.

I can’t give up chips! I am being good though and opting for Popchips all the time right now (and counting out the serving) or baked Tostitos. I just made some of Ellie Krieger’s Spicy Tomato Tortilla Soup! It’s yummy, a little spicy, but yummy.

Chocolate, fruit, eggs, cheese, coffee creamers…but not necessarily in that order.

You’ll do fine at your WW meeting, Danica. We all seem to be going through this “ambiguous stage” where we’re feeling we’re not doing something perfectly on WW – but it usually turns out that we’re just doing it differently, that’s all. I’ve been pouting all week that I’m not eating the snacks I was enjoying when we first started this program – but taking a second look, its because we’ve spent the points on desserts the past two weeks – so its all just a trade off. We both had good losses at the scale this week. So hang in there everybody!

Ok Danica, I must say I’m addicted to Starbucks, Iced Mocha Black and White split the pumps( meaning 2 pumps of White Chocolate and 2 pumps of Dark Chocolate) with whip cream on top. I need to find out how many points this truly is, I ordered a skinny and let’s just say YUCK, what’s in your STARBUCKS CUP?

PS Love that your husband is so very supportive, mine is as well and can I just saying blogging about our trials and tribulatoins, defeats, and triumphs is very motivating since I by some counts consider myself an aspiring writer.

HOPE you have a great Saturday! I started off my day not being very hungry so I opted for a SLMFAST SHAKE, ok this is a stupid questions since I use to do the old point system and I haven’t joined any meeting as of yet, how do you add up the new point system?

Hi there! I googled Weight Watchers (because I am thinking about giving it a try but wasn’t sure if I should stick with the old points plan or makes the switch to the new one) and found your site –after reading a bunch of your posts, I just wanted to say how much I love your blog and ask if you think shelling out for the new materials was worth it ? Thanks 🙂

I could not live without pasta. I must have some kind of pasta at least once a week. Bread would run a close second for me! Don’t sweat your day Danica, it’s just ONE day. Even a bad week is just ONE week. You just keeping going girl! The fact that you are so very honest about each step in your journey is why I LOVE your blog so much!

I could not give up my coffee, bread or pasta. I’m half Italian so it’s very hard to give up on the pasta. I do try to use wheat pasta when I can but doesn’t taste the same to me.

Hey girl..I would definitely WONDER about you, if every day was a perfect WW day. Robots don’t inspire us, but you do.

I could not give up being able to have fresh fruit…. (oh, and bread and ice cream and potatoes…. that’s why WW is sooo awesome.)

My do-over started on Saturday after I took my 1.4 weight GAIN! I deserved every bit of that weight, because I KNEW I was going off track (literally). Not tracking!!! I used to just give up after a week like that…I’d start to doubt that I could actually do this….but not this time.

My food that I would never give up? Chocolate!!! I think when I started on WW, I spent the first day figuring out the Points+ on EVERYTHING chocolate!!!

    HI Karin,

I mix up my Starbuck’s drinks alot but my staples are as follows:

    * Grande Hot nonfat, decaf latte with 1 pump of mocha (4 points+)
    * Venti ICED nonfat, decaf latte with 1 pump mocha (4 points)+

You can definitely save on calories by reducing the # of pumps you get for syrups. Each pump is 1 point+.

If I am not feeling chocolately – I go for a nonfat latte with caramel drizzled on top only (the caramel adds 0 points+).

Other times, I just get iced tea……

I calculate all the points+ for my drinks by visiting http://www.starbucks.com and looking up the nutrition facts for my drink based on milk, hot, iced, etc.

    Hope that helps a bit!

    Danica

    HI VetTech,

Thanks for the question. I absolutely LOVE the new Weight Watchers Points+ program and I think it’s their best program yet. I have been doing the program off and on for over 20 years so I have been through a lot of iterations 🙂

You could easily get by with purchasing the points+ calculator and the essentials kit to get you started. I LOVE the support I get in my weekly meetings (go for the monthly pass if you go that route b/c you get online access too) but I know not everyone likes that. I have several friends who work the program online and others who do it at home. You have to be honest with yourself and what works best for you. For me, it’s meetings ~ there is just something about the accountability and support I get.

Good luck and keep me posted on how it goes!

    Danica
