Happy Sunday all! While this weekend has flown by, it has actually felt like a weekend. I pretty much threw out my usual todo list and decided I was only going to do what I felt like doing. I highly recommend trying that sometime.
This morning started off at my Weight Watchers meeting where we all shared what our Fitness Win this month has been (mine was getting back into my groove, getting in a few workouts and a whole lotta pushups!) I think the one statement that rang true for me ~ it’s not whether you achieved everything you set out to do or that you did it perfectly ~ it’s the fact that you actually made the effort and did something…even if it was only one thing, it was better than doing nothing at all.
I also love the idea in this week’s WW Weekly on page 2. One member tracks “checkmarks” for every time they do something good from making a smart choice, tracking, working out. After accumulating 40 checkmarks, they get a reward, i.e., a massage. I think I need to go buy some gold stars or start adding checkmarks to my calendar.
I love the little exercise charm we all received for the Live, Life, Active Challenge…it’s the little things.
After the meeting, we made two quick stops before heading out of town. Up first ~ Subway.
3 inch Veggie Sandwich with Sriracha (SF + 3 WPA) – 4 points+
Second ~ “fuel” for the road Starbuck’s Grande Iced Nonfat Latte with a 0 points+ caramel drizzle on top only (SF) – 3 points+
Stop # 2 was meeting a plumber at our rental to learn we have to replace the entire faucet since they no longer make the part we need and the after market part doesn’t fit. Why even have an after market part if it will not fit. Just sayin’…..
Before shopping for a new faucet, we stopped at Jack’s Urban Eats for Salads. Would you believe this salad is is their small salad.
In the mix (SF + 1 WPA) – 5 points+:
- The Greens ~ Mixed Greens
- The Protein
- Egg
- Garbanzo & Kidney Beans
- Grilled Mushrooms
- The Treats
- Mandarin Oranges
- 1 Tbsp. Kalamata Olives (I call them beer olives because it’s what they taste like to me)
- The Dressing ~ Balsamic & a little olive oil on the side
When we got home, I whipped up a batch of 1 points+ Meyer Lemon Cookies for The Husband’s lunches this week.
For dinner, he told me I could pick any Asian Food I wanted to try Vegetarian Style or make Mac N Cheese. Hmmmm, let me think about that one
We decided to try Happy Garden as they had pretty decent reviews on Yelp and a decent Vegetarian menu.
We started with these tasty Homemade Vegetarian Potstickers.
Perfectly chewy, crunchy and delicious. I definitely think the meat version would be even better.
(SF + 2 WPA) – 2 points+
Next up was my dish ~ Moo Shu Vegetable! I am thoroughly impressed our waiter could actually fold our “burritos” using just two spoons.
The “protein” in our moo shu was egg ~ packed with a ton of crisp veggies and sweet plum sauce for him and plum sauce + sriracha for me.
I could eat these all day long I count just the pancake towards Simply Filling as all the other ingredients are “Simply Filling Like” (SF + 2 WPA) – 4 points+
He picked Veggie Chow Mein that was packed with crisp veggies and not oily at all.
Plus Bok Choy with Black Mushrooms. I think the black mushrooms freaked him out because he was expecting portabella mushrooms or something like that LOL. It was so entertaining to watch him try to eat one. This is one thing “Mikey” will not eat!
I couldn’t resist sampling a little of each…I didn’t eat my mushroom either ~ it’s sort of like mushroom flavored rubber. (SF + 3 WPA) – 3 points+
In a strange way I felt like tonight’s dinner made my “I miss meat” feeling I’ve had all weekend go away. Maybe it was just what I needed to feel satisfied?
The perfect finish ~ sweet oranges and fortune cookies.
The one bad thing about tossing my to-do list for this weekend is I did not plan out our weekly menu or grocery shop. That being said, there is only one more day left for Meatless March and then I can break into our freezer again!
STATS:
- Simple Filling (SF): 11 WPA (Weekly Points Allowance) used, 38 WPA remaining
- 21 Daily Points+ 0 WPA used, 49 WPA remaining
- Have I told you all yet, I’ve dreamed of meat for the past 3 days – The first involved chicken, the second involved burgers and last night it was BLTA salads. So weird, yet, funny!
- 400 pushups down, 350 to go (with a makeup 75)

QUESTION OF THE DAY:
What was one “fitness win” you had this month?
It could be a a day, a theme all month or pushing yourself to do something you’ve never done before….all those little successes add up!
Night all!

Went to Starbucks in Auburn last week and thought I’d try the carmel drizzle on top of my latte – needless to say, they were confused. I was asked at least 4 times by 2 different people – you just want the drizzle on top, not in the whole thing. It was too funny, but I reassured them, yes, just a drizzle on top. It was Yummy. Thanks.

This was a good WW challenge for me. As a totally sedentary person, I am mall walking twice weekly and working out with exercise bands. Looking forward to getting my charm.

I did it!! No Stopping!! Whoo Whoo!!!!

I had been thinking about signing up for a half marathon for a few months, and last week I finally pulled the trigger! This will be my second half marathon but I totally had to start from scratch with training. Last week I ran 6 miles! It feels so great to get back into the swing of things.

My fitness win this month has been meeting my friend at the gym at 5:30am. I never thought I could do it, but the thought of letting her down motivated to get my butt out of bed. My days are exponentially more productive by exercising at “0 dark thirty”.0
