Happy Thursday all! This morning I was actually able to convince The Husband to take his first Water Aerobics class ever. Actually, the conversation that lead up to the class was funny. He said he wanted to go for a walk this morning but it was HOT already. It was supposed to be 109 today.
Me: “I am not getting on the treadmill when I can do that at home. But, I am going to Water Aerobics.”
Him: “ Hmmm, maybe I’ll just wait for you.”
Him to Me as I come out in my swim suit: "Well, maybe I’ll go down with you and watch. Oh wait, I don’t want to be the creepy guy watching everyone. Maybe I’ll just go to.”
He is so funny. Before heading out, I had some coffee and a banana.
After the class he was like “that” is actually a workout ~ I think I am going to be sore He is sore already and is telling me we shouldn’t go to any more of “those” classes.
For breakfast/Lunch, I whipped us up Egg-Wiches with OJ. (8 points+)
I spent all afternoon at the Spa Costa Del Sur getting pampered. It was awesome and totally what I needed. If you all ever go, check out the Surf City Treatment ~ hands down the coolest spa experience I’ve ever had.
The one thing I’d change next time is to not make my spa time span for 5 hours over lunch. Mid way through, I snacked on this mini Sweet & Salty Peanut Butter Balance Bar I had in my purse.
3 points+ for the bar ~ I added an apple and some “Go Relax” Hot Tea (that was the name) they had at the spa.
The bar wasn’t bad, but, it was more just like a healthy peanut butter bar, not really salty or sweet.
One place we knew we wanted to eat when we came back this year is the Triple George Grill. We ate there last year when we visited Fremont Street and totally fell in love with the place.
As soon as you sit down, they bring you this chilled, crunchy anti-pasto plate to share.
Followed up with super hot, warm, crusty, doughy sour dough bread. (3 points+/slice)
We were both craving salads so we decided to split two of them.
First up ~ the Caprese Salad drizzled with balsamic & olive oil. (6 points+ for half)
House Salad topped with homemade balsamic dressing. (2 points+)
The Husband ordered a steak sandwich, but, still agreed to split my entrée.
I ate all 3 grilled shrimp and 1/2 the Filet Mignon (5 points+)
The creamiest mashed potatoes you will ever eat ~ they literally melt in your mouth with buttery goodness. I gave him most of the potatoes so I could eat all the veggies. (5 points+ for 1/3)
I was actually thinking if I could go back, I’d go back and order the two salads we had with all the sides. There is something so amazing about the crisp, sweetness of their green beans and carrots. (2 points+ because I am sure there was a little butter or olive oil on them).
After dinner we spent the evening walking along Fremont Street in Old Vegas checking out the lights, gambling and listening to the bands play.
As promised in yesterday’s posts, the view from our room at night.
STATS (12 am – 10 pm):
- 2,401 calories burned (excludes water aerobics)
- 3,356 steps taken (a lot less since I spent the day at the spa)
- 34 daily points+
Q’s
Where is your favorite place to eat in Las Vegas that you would go back to if you could?
I know we want to eat at one of the Diners, Drive Inns and Dive Locations here in Vegas called John Mull’s Road Kill Grill for BBQ. Other than that, I am still pondering where to go next.
Night all!

I used to live in Las Vegas and worked at Canyon Ranch SpaClub in the Venetian. My fave restaurant was the one IN the spa and Grand Lux Cafe. ENJOY!!!!!

Sounds like a great trip. I just had to book a coworker to Vegas yesterday and I was seriously envious.
What are those three tall hotels out you window?

HI Tiff,
I think they are condos. We drove by and the sign said MGM Signature Suites.

If you are up for venturing into Chinatown, I highly recommend Raku’s. It is Japanese, but they do not serve sushi – I still dream about their homemade age dashi and fried rice wrapped asparagus! It is tiny – you might want to make a reservation. We have been there several times – everything is unique and delicious!

You are doing real good on plan.
Have FUN!!

How fun. Hats off to you for convincing your husband to do water aerobics. I think mine would likely BE the creepy guy on the side of the pool. Though he’s so NOT creepy….

I have eaten at Triple Georges many, many times! The restaurant is very good. The bread is to-die-for, and the Side Car Bar next door has awesome drinks. Great recommendation, Danica!
