Happy Wednesday all! I have been looking forward to today’s road trip to the city and hiking adventures in Pacifica ever since we planned it last week. I absolutely love the ocean and this trail – it’s an added bonus that it’s only an hour drive just past San Francisco.
It was high tide when we arrived and the waves were in full force crashing over the rocks wall.I honestly could watch these little birds for hours. They hang out on the beach, watching and waiting for the waves to hit the shoreline.Once the wave starts to go out, they run in perfect unison out to the water and peck like crazy. As soon as the waves come, they race back up the shore. They repeat this over and over again. After walking along the board walk, you continue in the dirt trail.Climb up the stairs on this hill. Then, pick one of the many trails to hike through the hills or along the ocean.Until you get to the top. You can continue any direction going up and down the hills with every view being just as beautiful as the next.City – shoreline view.View of the ocean along the trail. We had a fantastic 5 mile hike taking everything in and climbing 40 floors.
Before heading out, I had 2 scrambled eggs with 3 Jennie-O Extra Lean Turkey Breakfast Sausages and a cutie for 2 SmartPoints.Post hike adventures – Dim Sum at the Hong Kong East Ocean & Seafood Restaurant. We had a window view of the Bay Bridge.Dim Sum is super fun to eat as its a bunch of appetizers that you order by the plate. Our eyes were definitely bigger than our stomachs and we had leftovers that I made my friend take but it was fun to try everything.
Steamed Dumplings are obviously my favorite thing lol. Most are 1 Smartpoint each. Here is what we had above by description as I cannot even pronounce the names:
- Shu Mai – steamed pork, shrimp & mushroom dumpling (the orange top)
- Steamed Giant Prawns
- Gao Choy Gao – Pan Fried dumpling with shrimp and chives (we also got steamed)
- Shanghai – steamed pork dumpling
- Steamed Cilantro & Shrimp dumpling
These fried shrimp dumplings look fun but they are not my favorite. We also tried the sweet & spicy BBQ pork & shrimp noodles which were amazing. And, my request for something green was met with this steamed Chinese broccoli that I devoured. If you are ever in San Fran, hike Pacifica & have Dim Sum!
My dinner will be some fruit and maybe nuts or cheese as I am not too hungry as we ate lunch late. For now, here is how I am counting my day for breakfast, 11 Dim Sum pieces, 1/2 cup noodles & 1 cup broccoli and dinner noted above.

Time for the Amazing Race!
