Hi everyone! How was your long weekend? Our weekend was packed with a few road trips, hikes, relaxation and some pretty tasty eats. We kicked off Saturday at my Weight Watchers meeting. I had a pretty decent week but didn’t physically feel like my body changed. I weighed in exactly the same maintaining which is a success. To keep myself from being discouraged I focused on all my mini successes this week – the healthy choices I made when faced with multiple work lunches, walking and hitting over 10K steps every day but 1 and not eating dinner out when I really wanted to. With that in mind, I moved on to have a fantastic weekend.
After the meeting we went to breakfast, the farmer’s market and then headed to Pacifica for one of my favorite hikes along the ocean.
Before hitting the trail, we went to Gorilla BBQ for our picnic lunch to eat at the beach. I had no idea this was a Diners, Drive In and Dives spot until we saw the picture on the wall. So cool!
We shared the two meat combo which was pretty massive. I had the chicken breast,1/2 corn cobb, and slaw – he had the pulled pork & chicken, rice/beans, Mac & cheese.
Plus a side of grilled portabella mushrooms and zucchini. So freakin’ good – even The Husband (my meat & potatoes boy) said he’d give up meat for these. š Sadly, we couldn’t finish everything though.
To get to the hiking Ā trails, you start out walking along the boardwalk, past the pier.
Keep going on the dirt trail which takes you right along the beach and golf course.
Your first stopping point is after you hike up 660 steps to get this view.
And the trails go from there all through the hills. I’ve yet to get The Husband to go up any of the big hills but he will go in the trails and up the steps with me.
We drove along the coast for a bit longer, stopping in a few small towns before heading home.
We decided Froyo for dinner was the perfect finish to our day. <3
On Sunday, we went to the Pleasanton Antique Fair for him and Cherry Picking again for me.
Another 7 lbs of cherries for the week! We spent the rest of the day relaxing watching movies, reading and being lazy. I definitely needed that to unplug from everything.
I did watch the premier of The Bachelorette but I’m totally undecided on if I want to watch the season.
This morning The Husband requested Subway egg sandwiches. I know he loves them and they are delicious but it’s hard for me to give up 12 points on them.
Today I decided to have them get cut the ham, egg & cheese 6 inch in half then assess how I felt after my half. You know what, it was just enough and The Husband was happy to get my other half. Deal for 6 Smartpoints.
After getting everything ready for the week, we headed to the Graton Casino for Vietnamese Noodle Bowls from Boat House before he taught me how to play Pai Gow Poker. Omg I’m so addicted to that game now!
I counted my noodle bowl by breaking down the ingredients. 1 cup rice noodles (5 sp), 2 oz grilled pork/chicken (2 sp), veggies, 10 peanuts (1 sp), 1/2 Eggroll used Panda Express (3 sp)
Road trip snacks:
This mix is 3 Smartpoints for 1/2 cup or 1/3 of the bag.
On our drive back into town, we stopped at Mary’s Pizza Shack. I love their new menu. And I’m totally coming back for their zoodles & shrimp!
Tonight, I went simple with their White Bean Soup, Salad & Bread. It doesn’t look pretty at all but it was tasty. (14 sp)
34 Daily Smartpoints, 7K steps – no walk

Great job on a successful weekend!
I’ve been a long time Bachlorette fan and having a hard time watching this season. I’m giving it up.
