That’s why you track …

December 10, 2018 by DanicasDaily 7 Comments

Happy Monday all! Today was a super productive day despite having meetings most of the day. I was reminded today of why tracking is so important by my coworker.

During our long 4 hour meeting, I looked around noticing so many people on their computers and looking at their phones. It kinda made me laugh as I wondered how many people were actually listening. It also made me realize why so many of our meetings have snacks in them. (Success – I had none today!)

It was at this point that I saw my coworker logging her snacks on her WW app. My first thought was, OMG it’s so cool she is doing WW too! My second thought was, holy wow, is she really tracking 7 Smartpoints for fruit snacks…so not worth it.

Then, I remembered…you and you alone are the only person who sees your tracker so you should always be 100% honest with yourself – track it all.

And that my friends is one of the biggest keys to success. She tracked it because she ate it even if it sapped all her points….btw, I never mentioned to her that I saw she is doing WW too.

I started my day with a Healthy Eggroll and pomegranate seeds. (3 sp).I told myself I need to give up the AM cappuccino’s again, but, then it was cold, rainy, Monday….I could go on.

Tall nonfat cappuccino with caramel on top (2 sp)For my quick lunch, I made up this tasty salad for 7 Smartpoints:

  • Mixed greens
  • Carrots
  • Cabbage
  • 1 oz turkey
  • 1 oz ham
  • 1 oz pepper jack cheese
  • 1 Tbsp pistachios on my salad and 1 Tbsp eaten ?on the side
  • 1 tsp olive oil, 1 Tbsp Merlot vinegar, 1 tsp fig balsamic, oregano

I wanted something else so I finally tried these WW Chili Lime Quinoa Crisps. They are just OK to me….they taste like corn rice crackers with a little chili powder (2 sp).I tried really hard last night to convince The Husband last night that we did not need leftover soup and I’d cook a new dinner. My reasoning was that I totally wanted this soup for lunches.

I didn’t win so I went for the consolation prize…not having to cook dinner!

I have 1 1/2 cups for 2 WWFreestyle Smartpoints with 2 slices fresh french bread (3 sp).20 Daily WWFreestyle Smartpoints, 6K steps

I have a banana planned for dessert so hopefully I stick to that and roll forward 3 sp.

Night all!

From your posts with Starbucks from way back when I started ordering drinks with carmel drizzle on it. I get non-fat lattes with carmel drizzle. Anyways I’m going to start making my own drinks at home and was looking for carmel for my drinks and they are all 3pts for 1tbsp! So now im wondering if I’ve been accounting the points wrong. How much do you account for the drizzle?

    Thanks!

      Hi Angel,

Good question. I ask for light caramel drizzle only on the foam so it’s usually about 1 tsp. If they put it around the cup, I have them remake it as that makes it too sweet and would add points. I do the same thing with hot or iced lattes. It’s sometimes a judgement call as they do add more to lattes and then I count.

If you are staying on track and having the results you like, i.e., losing then I’d say you are counting it properly. If not then try not adding it or adding points and see if that changes your results.

      Thanks for asking,

      Danica

Thanks for your response. My weight loss has been slow and I kept thinking my drinks were an issue. I get iced lattes šŸ™ such fail lol. I bought a ninja coffee bar and i need to figure out a new way to get my coffee in without making it plain.

        Ty!
