Hi all! How was your weekend? We kicked off our weekend at my Weight Watchers meeting. It was such a great meeting in so many ways but a few statements really made me stop to think. Several people in the meeting said they do not track on weekends because? we weigh in on Saturday so they have all week to lose it. Here is the crazy thing I never realized until now.
Did you know that there are 104 days or 28% of the year that represents weekend days? That doesn’t count any holidays near them which sometimes get lumped into the mix. It kinda makes you think, huh?
I have to say I track just about every day – good, bad or indifferent as that was something I learned along the way. I used to skip weekends but found I could do enough damage during the weekend that I’d end up maintaining each week. This was a big realization for me a few years ago.
I really try to focus on saving up my weekly points all week so I can fit in a treat or two but still be on track. It makes it fun to think of the different things I want all week too. Although I have to say that lately I’m so focused on getting blue dots in my tracker that I rarely go over 37 daily points now. I hit a blue dot 27 days in May.
Good stuff. All that being said, I maintained again this week. I know it’s a success and always better than a gain but I really wanted to kick the scale or go try another one – Don’t worry I resisted lol. I’m going to use this as motivation this week to stay as close to my daily target, walk as much as I can and focus on good, healthy eats tracking every single bite.
I wanted to share a few pics of our garden with you all. I’m feeling like an awesome gardener this year when most years I usually feel sorry for my plants that they got stuck with me. I have such a brown thumb but check this out.
Blueberries!
My one sweet mini pepper
The little cucumbers sorta freak me out – they look like caterpillars
The cherry tomatoes are getting ready
The big tomato plants have so many tomatoes I’m not sure how we are going to eat them all.
The zucchini are coming in and the patty pan squash have big flowers.
I also ended up pulling my cilantro out as it went to seed and I’m now trying to grow romaine in it’s place.
Yesterday was our fun date day and today I spent doing a little prep for the week.
This involved making up a new recipe for this Vegan Spring Pea Pasta Salad.
And making these 6 Smartpoint mini Lemony Vanilla Cupcakes for The Husband.
Keeping with the theme of my post today – here are my weekend Daily Snap Recaps.
Saturdays meals were all eaten out as we took a mini road trip. Breakfast at Huckleberry’s, a teriyaki lettuce burger and side salad at Habit Burger for lunch and a fun sharable Chinese dinner out at City Chopsticks. My day came in at 37 Smartpoints and I had about 7K steps (no walk).
Today we were up early to head to the Alameda Antique Fair. My eats were simple but so good. I’m a little light on fruits & veggies but I’ll fix that tomorrow 🙂
B: 1/2 bacon, egg & pico de gallo breakfast burrito (6 sp)
S: Grande iced Nonfat Latte with caramel on top (3 sp)
L: One delicious sandwich! 2 oz ham, 1 oz pepper jack, hot & sweet mustard on sourdough (8 sp), 2 slices cantaloupe
S: I shared a cupcake with The Husband so I could taste them (3 sp) I would’ve hit my target without this…
D: King Hawaiian Hot Dog Bun (5 sp) topped with Aidells Chicken Apple Sausage, tomato & pickles (5 sp), 1/2 cup pasta salad (2 sp)
33 Daily Smartpoints, almost 17K steps!
My menu this week is pretty much the same as last week since The Husband wasn’t feeling well.
Night all!
OMG…..thank you thank you thank you for this post!
This is exactly my downfall!
Weigh in on Sat morn, then think I can eat whatever I want all weekend.
Then try and diet like crazy all week to make up for it.
IT NEVER WORKS THAT WAY!! LOL
I guess sometimes you just need to have it thrown in your face by someone else before it sinks in.
I’m going to copy this and put it on my phone…fridge….and IN MY CAR!! HAHAHA
Have a great week! 🙂
Love your garden pics!In my garden today, I just discovered a “tomato” rather than yellow blossoms; love fresh veggies from the garden !!! Always taste better super fresh!
