Happy Weekend all! I hope you all are having a fantastic weekend. We spent our last two days in Las Vegas lounging by the pool, taking in a few new exhibits and eating more delicious food. I am proud we ate our breakfasts in each day.
Dave’s Thin Sliced Killer bread (it’s only 2 sp a piece) topped with honey butter (1 tsp = 1 sp). Served up with berries, a scrambled egg and Aidells Chicken Apple Sausage. We also had lunch in one day mixing a Taylor Farms Avocado Ranch Salad with buffalo chicken deli meat, a little farmers market avocado and sunflower seeds. My post pool snack. We headed over to the promenade for dinner at Yard House.
One of my favorite things on their menu is the chicken lettuce wraps.I had the miso soy glazed sea bass with bok choy and skipped the rice. The real reason for that was knowing we’d get ice cream later at Sprinkles.I wish you all could see how cute this little cone was – it’s like the size of a finger. This is the kids cup vanilla bean.On Saturday, we whipped up another breakfast using up our Farmers Market goodies.A “fried” egg & potatoes, berries, avocado and Dave’s honey butter bread. Our first stop was the Neon Museum. I think it’s so cool that several casinos have donated their signs. Definitely book a tour if you go as the history of the signs and their owners is fascinating. You also get a booklet with fun facts about each sign and it’s original location.
Here are a few of my favorites – some light up still but not all. After the tour, we headed over to the Tap Sports Bar for lunch.
Honestly, I think these Beer Battered Hatch Chili Mac N Cheese Bites with Dill Ranch might be one of the best things I’ve ever eaten.
Crunchy, light, pepper, creamy, cheesy…I had 2.5!I ordered this Spicy Thai Chicken salad to balance out my fried goodness. I did steal a beer battered onion ring too.
I’d get this salad again – it’s sweet, spicy, crunchy and peanutty. Mangos would make it perfect by adding a refreshing brightness to balance it out.?We walked the strip and gambled a bit to work off lunch.Stopping at the Hershey’s Chocolate World for dessert. The next exhibit we went to was the CSI Experience. It’s interactive – you research the clues and solve the crime. I love the science you get to learn about how they analyze each clue in real life along the way.
Tip: check out Groupon if you go as we each got $10 off our tickets.
We both put down creative names that appeared on our CSI diploma. BTW his is “Italian” or so he says 😉He hid his clipboard behind his back and I have no idea what I am doing with mine!We ordered in pizza and salad with garlic balls for a light dinner. It was fun to find a few new things to do this year. If you are catching up or looking for ideas on what to do in Las Vegas, here are links to my other recaps:
