Hi all! This morning I literally dusted off the treadmill and started off my day with a 45 minute walk. I prefer being outside but it was super cold with rain forecasted. I do love starting my day with my workout checked off my list. It sometimes takes a little convincing the voices in my head and telling myself to just workout 10 minutes. All I have to do is workout 10 minutes then I can quit if I’m not feeling it. The thing is, I always end up going longer – all I needed was the push to get going. It usually sets a great tone for my day and I’ve never walk away after working out thinking, man, I shouldn’t have done that.
For those wondering, I’m “trying” to not have a daily Starbucks to see how it impacts my food choices. Will I need the couple of points or does it help me eat less when I have it since I sip it all morning? I’m trying to make it to the weekend but I seriously miss it! My pocket book will thank me but I’m not sure if my stomach and brain are yet lol.

I know it may not seem as “fun” as Starbucks, but try a thermos of hot tea – the thermos will keep it hot while you sip it for hours. It’s zero points and there are so many flavors you cannot get bored. If you miss the caffeine, try a black tea. Plus, if you don’t get a Starbucks for a year, assuming $4 a latte (a conservative estimate), you will save close to $1500 — what would you do with that extra money?
Hi Kris,
Such a great idea – I am going to try it! I never really broke down the cost like that as it’s just $4. Thanks for that too.
Danica
I love reading your blog and look at the food and drool! I’m new to this….are these points for maintenance or for weight loss?
Hi Julia,
You could do either but I am currently focusing on losing. I’ve lost 30 lbs to date and I try to stick in the range of 27-37 most days (to earn my blue dot). My daily target is 30 with 42 Extra WPA if needed.
Thanks,
Danica
