One of the things I love the most about Nice is the location. We are just a short drive to other towns and countries. Our first day trip was to head to the french town of Menton before hopping over to the 2nd smallest country in the world, Monaco.
I know this will sound super corny but I feel like all French Fries in France taste so much better than in the US. My goal is to eat them as often as possible for this reason lol.
We had deluxe potatoes with our bacon & egg sandwiches before hitting the road.
Menton is actually a really cute beach town that is situated right on the Mediterranean Sea. Although it looks like a big city in this picture, it’s actually not.
The Husband wanted to check out their casino for stop number 1.
They happened to be having a film festival which was super cool to see parts of it like this make up artist creating the character.
And each of these classic cars showed which movie they were filmed in.
We came across another indoor farmers market as we walked through town. We stopped to pick up some more fruit for our road trip.
Eventually we made our way back down to the beach to check out this castle.
Before picking one of the many restaurants to eat at on the beach called Les Parasols.
We shared a caprese salad.
Then a bacon cheeseburger with the best fries.
After lunch, we drove over to Monaco. I am not sure I get the allure of Monaco as I feel it’s set up for tourists. It’s main attractions are the high end shops, Les Paris Cafe and the Monte Carlo Casino pictured below.
The drive was beautiful. We ended up at Le Lodge for dinner once we were back in town.
We shared the tomato and olive salad.
He got Lasagna and I got raviolis with mushroom sauce. Both were delicious and we still shared lol.
