During our visit to France last year, we had stopped at Lake Annecy during our road trip and knew it was a place we wanted to come back to visit. I also knew I wanted to stay on the lake at the Imperial Palace. Our room exceeded my expectations and was super nice. Each night they turned down our bed and left bottles of water on our nightstands too.The view of the city from our room.I kinda love the fact they had this welcome on the TV.Each morning we took a long walk along the lake on this path. The lake is so beautiful, clear and crossed peaceful. We crossed this bridge to get to the Old City. The Old City is so cute! It’s packed with a bunch of shops, bakeries and restaurants. We had breakfast outside in the sunshine at Cafe Des Duca. The Anglo-Saxon breakfast included all of this for $10 Euro.
Cappuccino and freshly squeezed orange juice.Scrambled eggs, bacon & toast. After breakfast we continued our walk around the shops and even found a fair to walk through on Saturday morning. On Sunday, we checked out this church on our walk – it was so incredibly beautiful inside that pictures do not do it justice. My favorite dinner was actually at our hotel at a place called Le Riva. The view from our table. The salty, briny black olives they serve you while you think about ordering go so well with the bread and wine.I love the fact they made a green salad for me when I asked as it wasn’t on the menu.My ricotta gnocchi was served with crispy bacon, sage, tomatoes, butter and parmesan. It literally melted in your mouth in a creamy, cheesy, salty, herby, buttery way.
I could’ve totally licked the bowl but resisted!
