Hi all! I am back today with my final recap for our France Trip this year. We decided to take a short road trip into Switzerland as it is only about a 40 minute drive from where we were staying at in Lake Annecy.
I am not sure what I expected, but, I thought crossing the border would’ve been more eventful.
What I learned: you pay the ‘annual’ $40 toll if your car does not have a sticker and this is all you see when crossing the line.I wanted to drive along the water so we headed down to the town of Coppet before taking Route 1 along the shoreline for about an hour.
Coppet is actually a cute town that sits right on Geneva lake.Cheese!!We had lunch at this locally run, family owned bakery. The daughter totally convinced me to be brave and gave me mini versions of Burek in spinach/cheese, cheese and beef/onion/cheese to try. I absolutely loved them all!Believe it or not, my favorite was the beef. It had so much flavor and the pastry itself is like a crossaint. She still made me a salad (as that was all I was originally going to have). It may sound wierd but I really liked the combination of lettuce, pickles, feta, olive oil, lemon juice, salt & pepper. After lunch, her Dad had us tour the museum next door. He gave us an English pamplet to read as we walked around each room. Our last stop included a walk out to the lake to view the garden, relax and take it all in.He gave us these heart cookies to enjoy while relaxing (I declined the coffee). The rest of the week we spent in Valence for my work meetings. I discovered a new park that I walked in every day after work. Here are a few snaps of it:Such a fun trip and I cannot wait to go back to see more.

Hi Danica,
This looks like the perfect trip! Can you tell me which airport you flew into and if you thought it was easy to drive a car in another country. Do you need anything besides a US drivers license?
Thanks
karen
