Hi all! The final part of our New England trip took us to the beaches in Connecticut. On our way, we stopped to tour the Pez Visitor Center.I love the fact that you can follow the big Pez signs to get there.
When you check in, you get a cute lanyard, a scavenger hunt card, a coupon for $ off at the retail shop and map. They also have a self guided tour app you can download as well.
There are so many Pez dispensers that I never knew existed. My favorite are the cars and trucks.
On display, you get to see dispensers from the early years and items made for a specific purpose like these.
The old time memorabilia is so fun. I think it would be awesome to insert a quarter and get a Pez.
On your tour, you can view Pez being made through the looking glass.
Mix & Match your flavors as well as design your own dispenser.
Fun fact: an entire “sleeve” or pack of Pez is only 2 Weight Watchers SmartPoints.
We spent the last day taking a drive along the coast. After doing a bit of research, we decided to take drive from Fairfield to New London along Highway 1 part of the way, then, looped off along the local routes (154, 156, 213) as they took you along the ocean.
The drive is beautiful taking you through several cute towns with houses, antique stores, shops and a few harbors. This was one of my favorite stops as you could see several islands – some with houses, some without. There is a bridge between these two islands with two houses.
Before heading to dinner, we took a short walk to the beach across the street from our hotel.
Since it was the off season, we pretty much had the beach to ourselves to watch the sunset.
A perfect finish to a super fun trip.
Here are a few snaps of my favorite eats in Connecticut. We had Subway for breakfast.
Lunch at Chester’s Barbecue was fantastic! We went to the Clinton location. I love their story and how they “learned” to make great BBQ. It’s a family owned business and they are all friendly.
We ordered their “Sampler” to try a little bit of everything. It was so much food – you definitely get your monies worth lol.
My sampler plate. I loved the Chicken & Ribs – they had a nice crust that went so well with their homemade sweet BBQ sauce. They do have a vinegary and spicy peach sauce if you prefer. All the sides were good but the baked beans and collards were my fave. I did go back for more chicken, collards (I ate most of them!) and beans.
To balance it out, we had dinner at Pronto Chop & Pizzeria. After all our delicious food this week, we just wanted salad. I had the Chinese Chicken salad.

We had such a fun time cruising and driving all over New England and parts of Canada. I think the East Coast is so charming and we cannot wait to go back to explore more.
Today we head back to normal and I’m looking forward to getting back into my routine.
Have a great day all!
