Hi all! I am back today with my last France Recap. As much as I’ve loved our journey, I have to say I think we saved the best for last. Best food, best view, best hike….although, I might be biased as these are all of my favorite things.
We took one last stroll through the Old Nice Farmers Market for souvenirs and pictures. Is it funny I can window shop fruits, veggies and just about anything farmers market related?! We had our favorite French American breakfast.
Then headed down to the water to walk along the boardwalk and over to the Castle Hill hike.
There are several steps and paths wrapping up and around this tower.
I was proud of The Husband for not being afraid of going with me on the hike and through secret cave pathways.
The reward on the other side is this beautiful waterfall.
There is a park, cemetery and several directions you can go on your hike. For me though, it was all about getting to the top to see the French Riviera. It was totally worth it!
We decided to walk down the other side of the “mountain” to see what was on the other side. As you walk along the path there are several benches you can sit on to take in the view.
You see the harbor on the other side and my eagle eye husband somehow managed to find an antique market on the other side too.
We stopped at this popular cafe for lunch called Cafe Des Chineurs. It made me laugh seeing their menu.
I “thought” I ordered the grilled shrimp noodle salad. It was actually crispy shrimp spring rolls which were tasty. This salad was by far my favorite. Greens, grilled veggies, crispy onions, mint, sweet soy….
The Husband’s double cheeseburger with salad and fries looked great too.
After lunch we walked around another part of downtown Nice we had not yet been to.
We stopped for gelato – I had vanilla bean.
Along the way, we came across this amazing church. The inside tells a story as you walk from booth to booth.
I snapped this picture just for my WW friends.
We decided that we needed to have salad and Le Cresci Pizza for our last dinner in Nice.
Caprese…sharedPlus 1/4 each of the spicy sausage aka pepperoni pizza.
Thank you all again for taking this journey with us. We had such a fantastic time and cannot wait to go back to check out another area on our next trip.
